  • @celticgirl83 Yeah, my Dad was too. Looking back, I'm so glad I was introduced to this as a kid. What a voice.

  • A great Artist

  • Great musician, great singer, great guy. Let's get back to REAL country folks!!

  • good

  • Steve, great song! You dont get the credit you deserve.

  • This song can be utilized as awesome fishing fuel if you listen to it early in the morning right before you hit the lake, plus, it leaves a pleasant tune in your head the rest of the day.

  • A real singer, songwriter. A gifted man.

  • Steve is still the man.

  • i don't think i was born when this came out, but i lovve this song!

  • I agree with keefer2111. How does it get any better than this? If singing so great was illegal Steve would be in prison for life. Just like the guy about Hank Williams said "he sounds like Alfalfa of the little rascals". GEEZ! They both sing with so much feeling it's chilling. Is it possible people come on You Tube just to be troll troublemakers? Thumbs down for Steve Wariner? Yeah sure.

  • The 6 people who voted thumbs down are NUTS!

  • this song takes me back to when i was living in gardners. thank you very much for posting this video

  • Doesnt matter how many times I watch this. Its a great compilation - great job- Steve is fantastic any way you slice it!

  • One of my all time favorite country voices. This guy had some good songs.

  • Love it, Love it, Love it!!!

  • Thanks rlitt. Great music.

  • I was blessed enough to have worked with Steve Wariner when he came to El Paso Tx. What a nice guy too! A very TRUE song!

  • Thank you rlitt99 for posting this song. I guess there are still many great Americans out here. I just can't totally believe everyone is of the hollywood and political elitists cut of cloth! I know there still of millions of Good Americans out there. Gosh it almost seems like misplaced Faith to think there are still loyal moral and common sense Americans left "out there". watching hwood, tv and the same DEPRESSING. But when u 4get hwood and tv and look at the "REAL"pipo then there's hope.

  • Maxcactus right on brother! Well written and performed with Heart! What happened to country musid? What happend to this country? Man where are all the good pipo...singers...actors/actresses....strong positive political leaders....strong Christain Church leaders/pipo...where did these folks go? How did they all get replaced by the "2nd revolution" folks of the 1960s. Those idiots of the sixties are back again...we're reliving the 60s again. I want America back! God bless our USA.

  • This song was co-written by Roger Murrah and Richard Leigh. Roger was also the co-writer of "Don't Rock The Jukebox". Richard wrote "Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue". I'd like for someone to have this played at my funeral service once I've passed on as this is a positive song that reflects life's journey from beginning to end. It sounds like Jerry Douglas on the dobro but don't remember if he was on this session or not. This is my all time favorite Steve Wariner recording.

  • Great video, thanks! Those were the days. Steve's a real talent!

  • Happy Birthday Steve!!!!!! from another Christmas baby...

  • From my all time favorite ACL... RLitt thank you so very much!!

  • Lifes Highway...........I hope we never go astray......

    Thanks Steve

  • Great Song

  • This is one song I think everyone on this post can relate to one way or another. Wouldn't you agree?

  • I really love your video. I was always sad when Steve didn't put out an original video for this song at the time. I'll always love this song. It'll always be one of my favorites by him. He has always seemed overlooked by the Country seen. Though he has won awards- back than I don't think he had. I love your video. Thanks so much for sharing it. I saved it. I don't think Steve wrote this song but I love it just the same. Thanks so much again. Steve is great & classy. Great words in this song!!

  • This is one of my favorite songs by Steve. Steve is just a all around nice guy with great talent. One of Nashville's finest guitar pickers. Thanks to Chet Atkins for the part he played in bringing Steve to the forefront of country music. Special thanks to rlitt99 for this superb video.

  • Its a shame they dont make music like this anymore. The country music today is total garbage.

  • AMEN BROTHER.!!!!!!!!

  • This song is ah-mazing !!

  • Ok, I'm going to tell my age, but I remember when Steve got his start on the Porter Waggoner show. So long ago....

  • Love this song. Tried to post a video reply but couldn't. Click on my name and check me out. Just my acoustic guitar and me. thanks, Sherrill

  • Thanks for making and sharing the video. Great job. Great singer. Wish they were still this good.

  • Stevie is the man ...smooth voice and killer guitar player wrapped into a classy package! Thanks 4 posting

  • I love Steve Wariner. One of the best voices in country music.

  • Right On Max!!

  • great song,brings back memories!

  • rlitt this has to be the unofficial video for this song. everytime i get in the mood to hear this song i always come to this video. a superb job indeed!

  • I love this song! I used to listen to it all the time on my mom's tape in the car.

  • ATTENTION NASHVILLE RECORD COMPANIES:

PLEASE dump the pseudo-country crap that passes for music nowadays and bring back real talented country artists like Steve Wariner!

We are tired of the sissified city boys pretending they understand country music. Give us back the real artists and musicians who understand & record real music. There's no shortage of real talent out there. YOU just have to choose to record and promote the REAL artists. If you need an example, Steve is your man!

  • steve is amazing! That video , his voice, the guitar, dobro... awesome! I love it!

  • You did a great job with this video -- hope you made an A on the project!

  • Excellent country song by a superb writer, singer and artist. The real deal. Far above any of the garbage that is today's cookie cutter new country.

  • awesome song, great voice. A true talent. Plus a song with actual meaning.

  • This was great! I loved it!

  • Brings back memories. This is REAL country!

  • Good job! This is excellent!

  • i couldn't agree more my friend!

  • omfg thank you so much for uploading this, i lost my cd that had this song on it and have been trying to find it for months..

  • This tune screams for a hot bluegrass guitar solo.

  • Most underrated musician and under appreciated musician Nashville ever had. Vince Gill? Shit, Vince couldn't touch Steve with a million mile pole.

  • Wonderful!!! Ahhhh the memories!

  • XMUSTANGWOMAN

  • hahaha me and my ex were driving back from Kentucky through the mountains a few years back and there was a hell of a blizzard and this song was on the radio.

  • Hey that's great!

  • Thanks-

Songs/video editing like this make youtube a godsend.

  • wow, some real country music. don't hear that anymore

  • Takes me back to the good old 80's! They don't make country songs like this no more!

  • i was born in '86 so i can't agree that it takes me back to the 80's, but i agree there was alot of REAL country music from that time, and now all we have is 95% crap...

  • Is that Jerry

Douglass playing dobro in this song?

  • It's him on the audio, but the visual isn't him. It's from Austin City Limits.

  • @guitarpicker23 yes...it was Jerry playing on the original recorded album.....

  • Thanks for posting this video, I love it and I love this song...

  • THANKS so much for posting this!! You did a wonderful job on the video. I've loved this man for over 25 years and I miss seeing him perform live. I wish digital cameras were popular when I was going to see him. I think I would have taped every song he sang.

  • I'm looking for 2 "GOOD" video links to;The weekend...and 2 teardrops(By steve wariner)anyone have a good link?

  • It looks like he is playing Austin City Limits in the middle of this video...I love this video..you did a good job!

  • that wasnt me who wrote that comment it was my mother :s

  • As soon as the first note is played it makes me want to move......Absolutely love this one and never tire of it. It hits a cord somewhere way down deep.......Thanks for this!!

  • That whole record of Steve "Life's highway" is one of my alltime favourites! Awesome stuff!

  • I sincerely thank you for posting this. I too have a ton of old VHS tapes - All Steve Wariner. My husband doesn't care for me having them and has recorded over some of them! But I'll have to try and go through them and see what I can come up with. NICE JOB. I have traveled as far as 4 states away by car to see this man live. Always worth it!

  • I hope you got an A+ in your video class...you get one from me!

  • there was this great tune written by a then sixteen year old kid...song was "It's A Crazy World" the kid: Mac MacAnally

  • Damn Good job, thanks for sharing it with all of us !!!!

  • nuthen better

  • steve is great.

  • I didn't get around to this on the last comment, but this video's wonderful. I think it's better than what could've been when the song was new. Back then, the visual might have been about someone else's "highway"...instead, here we see Steve himself going down that highway, and going down it with grace, charm, and good humor. Thank you for matching this beautiful song with a knockout montage of a great singer/songwriter/musician's life thus far.

  • Steve was always a good singer in the Glen Campbell vein- honest, tuneful, and sincere...but in the mid 80s when Jimmy Bowen let him take off and start being the total musician he was capable of being and encouraged Steve to take more control of the music...wow! This song came out around 1987 or so, right around the time that Steve was really beginning to kick things up a notch, music-wise. My favorite Wariner song, although "Baby I'm Yours" is a close second!

  • Steve is so great. He was born way up in Noblesville, IN but his family is from Russell Springs, KY right up the lake from my family :D

  • i remember seeing him open for the judd's 1987 at riverbend cincinnati ohio. the wind was blowing through the pavillion when he sang this, it was just a perfect moment.

  • This is the song that introduced me to Steve's music back when I was in high school. I've been fortunate enough to catch several of his performances. I especially enjoyed when his brother Terry used to tour with him.

  • Terry still performs with Steve.

  • Excellent! Thanks for posting.

  • yes yes yes

  • most underated. awesome Steve!

  • what was the year this song?

  • This song came out in like 1986 or '87 I believe. He's my favorite artist, no doubt about it. There'll never be another like him.

  • this is my favorite steve warriner son

  • Steve had, and has, a lot of great songs. But this one was always my favorite. Great job!

  • u did an awesome job :)

  • Steve is one of those rare artists... whose songs transcend country and pop.He is well liked by fans of both genre. Not long ago,his 'Love,me' did very well in both Country and Pop charts.

  • This song came to my mind while driving from Pennsylvania back to Yakima, WA. There is places I never dreamed could be so beautiful that were so flat! What a wonderful experience. If I could make that trip again, I'd play this song the whole way,(mostly) lol.

  • quelle belle voix ..

  • great song , love small town girl too !

  • Steve Wariner is a musical and writing genious. Also one of the nicest guys in the business.

  • Who's playing Dobro on this?

  • The Dobro makes this tune.

  • It's Jerry Douglas.

  • Doesn't look like Douglas on the video. I didn't know he played pedal steel also.

  • It's not him on the video (that part is from Austin City Limits), but the sound is the original album version which is Jerry Douglas.

  • Ahhh, Thanks!

  • GOD, I LOVE THIS SONG, AND STEVE!

  • I have trucked alot of miles with a steve wariener cass tape in the sterio.Made the miles go alot smoother. Love this guys music!

  • I think Steve Wariner is a pretty good singer. I remember him never really fitting in at any decade. Also I don't like that smile at 3.15 it is kind of creepy.

  • Thanks for posting. This is great work. I'm gonna tell my age, but I remember the first time I ever saw Steve Wariner. It was on the old Porter Wagoner TV show and Steve performed 'All Roads Lead to You'. Thanks for taking me down memory lane...

  • hi I think that it is really great the you have this on youtube I'm a big steve wariner fan. and I was wondering where you got all the footage of him? please write back!

  • I've collected it over the years. I'm always interested in trading if you have any old footage you can copy.

  • CMT quality Thanks

  • Whoever posted this video "THANK YOU."

  • You're welcome.

  • Very nice... Steve IS the most under-rated & least recognized guitar player in country music. Unbelievably fast ! He's a nice guy too. In Corpus Christi in the mid-90's I showed up about 3 hours early for his concert because I wanted him to sign my guitar - he stood right there and talked like I was just somebody else in the band while I TOOK THE STRINGS OFF so he could sign it inside ! Class Act.

  • One of the most under-rated singers too no doubt.

  • nice work on the video editing!

  • I have always enjoyed this song!

    love and light!

  • Yeah! Please post more Steve Wariner songs. They remind me of the good ol 80's. High school days!

  • THANK YOU THANK YOU, I have been a fan of Steve's for more than 20 years I just hate that he doesnt tour anymore, we truely miss seeing him perform. Great shots of Terry also.

  • I agree. Thank you so much :) Beautiful song

  • Good job. Every live performance of a song is at a different tempo - you edited well. I am a Steve Wariner fan. He is an awesome guitar player and very good singer/songwriter.

  • could someone find two teardrops and post it please? send me a message when you do or can.

  • I had the pleasure of seeing Steve when he was in concert in San Dimas a few years back. Really enjoyed the show except he left out my favorite song of his, "Small Town Girl" I was hoping so much to hear that song live. However it still was a great show. Has anyone seen that song posted anywhere? Thanks.

  • Could you make a video of my favorite Steve Wariner song, "BY NOW"

  • what no video of Steve Wariner's Kansas City Lights..sigh

  • Nice Video,I would love to see a video of "Small Town Girl"

  • Steve is the bomb! I am glad to know there are others out there that love his music as much as I.

  • this is great, thanks!

  • I was thrilled to see this!! Steve Wariner is one of the few remarkable artists out there. Great to see many clips capturing many wonderful years of great hits that have touched so many of our hearts.

  • This is is a very wonderful thing you have done. Has Steve seen this? Steve is one of the most talented and underrated music artists in the world. He is also one of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life. Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • Wow, well done and THANK YOU!

  • Thanks and good edditing
