  • @1997SamW seriously? What those girls do clearly isn't beauty, at least for a 7 year old. The person who made this knows what real childhood "beauty" is, and it's not using your kid as your own live Barbie doll.

  • (p.s.) which is no way to raise a kid. Use the money to get them educated and give them a good child hood, not give them spray tans and pagent dresses.

  • I completely agree. This is no way to build her "character" or to get her to make friends. All it is, is these moms who dress up their kids like dolls because they always wanted to.

  • ohhhhhhhhhhhgod shut up , didn't you listen to your own video? they do it for innocent reasons: -college scholarship -self confidence - learns to speak in public - makes them feel special - learn to handle pressure -learn to assert herself -they make friends & its fun! we should all calm down and let them do what they want. if it was that bad then they wouldnt be allowed to do certain things to the child to prepare for a pageant.
  • Wow i love how the only reason you do this is cause nobody thought you were pretty when you were little. Your such a loser. Didn't anybody ever tell you not to say anything unless you try it?

  • Great doco, well done! I would argue that you can actually see beauty - in nature, i. Art

  • Eww like all of them are going to lose their virginity at around 8-12 thats most likely

  • These girls are cute before they dress up and after they are they just look like dolls. It's weird and kind of disgusting to see these 3 year old girls in wigs, with fake teeth, fake eyelashes, and $1000 worth of makeup and then prancing around like a stripper while their mothers scream and cheer. You know every pedofile in the world is watching this show right? And what will these kids think when they grow up? That looking like a toy is all there is?

  • Well..all I have to say is that only one of my friends, and a best friend at that, participated in pageants since she could walk. She is also the only friend I know who has ever attempted to kill herself and wound up in a mental hospital. There are seriously soooo many horrible things this industry can do to a young impressionable girl's self esteem. It's ridiculous.

  • pooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo i do pageant

  • I saw this on Ebaumsworld and I looked into it more. Totally fucked up how parents live through their kids. I want to go to one of these pagents, and when they announce the winner, just LAUGH in the face of the kids who lost and make fun of them.

  • I love my gal as she is all gorgeous al-a-natural. My husband thinks I am nuts watching this $hite, it's an eye opener for me - never would I have imagined parents would subject their children to this sort of 'stuff'. It borders on the line of child abuse/neglect when you are depriving a child of sleep & feeding them on caffeine & sugar for a high not to mention the makeup, clothing and inuendo-poses. Shame parents shame shame shame! Excellent Vid. I am sure we're not alone in our thinking :oD

  • These "women" are robbing their children of their youth and infecting them with insecurity that will live with them forever. So sad.

  • You said it all. Don't listen to the people who try to put you down or say you're wrong. These little girls need someone to speak for them.

  • She has a point.

  • you know whats funny, child dancers wear the same amount of make up,hair ,tan and most often LESS clothing and no one cares,im confused

  • @emma1234588 dancers are not judged on their looks. And usually child dancers wear maybe a little bit of lip gloss and that's it. I've never seen a child dancer get a fake tan or fake hair, and they do have appropriate clothes. Well, maybe things are different in america...? But still, the major issue is, that those kids are put in front of judges to be judged on their LOOKS. Like wtf, they're kids. Don't be confused, it's not that difficult.

  • @emma1234588 or at least when I danced as a kid, I never had any make up, fake tan, fake hair or inappropriate clothes. I danced cause it was a SPORT I enjoyed. My mom didn't make me go there. And no one was judging me. I just had fun.

  • u know whats funny, child dancers are wearing the same amount of makeup and hair and LESS clothing most times and no one ever has a problom with it

  • @TheGlamourDiva these little girls can not speak for themselves. a little young to fuck up self image and pose innapropriately in front of the whole fucking world dont ya think? these moms only make their kid do it because theyre too fucking ugly to be a model themselves.

  • Who cares

  • who Cares lady if they wanna do they can do it

  • Thank. You. Sooo much!

I get little girls wanting to dress up in moms heels, I did it and my sisters did it, but when you make them do this, that's just taking the whole dress up idea just wayyy too far for me.

Playing dress up is fun! I'm 19 and I have every intention of dressing up for Halloween until i can't anymore! I'm assembling my own costume because I just can't get myself to purchase a thin, plasticky, dress that only goes from boobs to butt. No, just no.

  • *CONTINUED FROM LAST COMMENT*

and when i see some of the girls getting their nails done and dressing up and loving every minute of it, i just think of how i would have loved to dress up like that when i was little.

so, in my opinion, your documentary is slightly biased. it is a good documentary, and i cansee you're very emotional about the subject, but i just find it slightly one- sided. the documentary does carry a good message, though. well done.

  • yeah, sure i agree that it is wrong to spray tan little children and wax their eyebrows and put makeup and bikinis on them. sure i agree that it is wrong for mothers to live out their beauty-pagent dreams through their little girls.

but if you watch the show, there are alot of dedicated kids on it. kids who really seem to like it. one girl said that she loved pagents more than her pacifier, for example.

  • This is just EVERYTHING that's wrong with the world

  • Shut the fuck up, let people do what they want . I honestly feel, me being a teenage girl i would love to do something like that at a young age to make my confedince high! & honestly your over protective to think its bad to make your child feel beautiful. & maye there crying but shes younng & it takes time and effort. Plus it early & little kids love thwre sleep! So chillax.

  • This isn't real child abuse. Get informed on what some parents do to their children. This is sick and a sign of the times, but I would rather parents do this than really abuse their children.

  • This is very biased. You're only showing the extremes. For example, you showed someone who buys 75 dresses, but there are pageant girls who will rent dresses, to keep costs down. Plus, you showed girls crying, but not having fun like most do. If you want to make a documentary, don't make it biased.

  • she looks like the girl from twilight: alice cullen

  • I wholly agree with everything you say in this video. But I also agree with TheGlamourista, there actually are kids who enjoy doing pageants.

Now, I have only glanced at this show for like 5 min at a time, during commercials on other shows and such, but there was one episode that I ended up staying with.

It was the one about Brock, an obviously gay little boy (I mean NO HARM calling him gay) who loved doing pageants more than anything, and his mom loving him no matter what, really heartwarming

  • no more childhood for them?

  • I think pageant is nothing about the child. It's all about what the Mom's want.

How does a 6 months-old baby know that she likes pageant? She doesn't have to. Her mom will raise her up telling the child everyday "but you LOVE pageants and GLITZ"

  • LOL BOO THE FUCK HOO

pageants are for fun. Get off your high horse.

Bitch and moan all you want, mommy still doesn't love you.

  • And for some reason, no one is crying abuse for little girls that are sent to gym training as early as 4. Broken spines and other physical injuries, as well as a huge mental pressure are present in everything related to sports, especially in gymnastics. And yet, it is trendy to be against pageants and to applaud gymnastics performances for teens than have known nothing else in their life but training.

Oh, my cousin is a Romanian gymnast, I know what I am talking about.

  • @schmiddlebopper - Im not saying that childrens pagaents r right, but i am saying to keep in mind that nobody, except the families in the show, knows the entire story.

(ps. I had to post the rest cuz it wudnt all fit)

  • @schmiddlebopper -I totally agree that child pagaents are wacko, but the same time, some of the kids do like it. And if they dont then its the parents decision to have the child do it. Also, keep in mind, that its a reality tv show thats airing on a very well-known channel. Of course the producers are going to show the worst parts of the pageant. Theyre going to manipulate many many things to make the child look devilish and the moms look crazy. Im not saying that childrens pagaents r right, bu

  • I fell that many of the pageants for little kids is not fair. Yeah, when you get older a teen could chose to do it. I feel that many people justify pageants because of the dance world. Yes, you wear some clothing that is very adult. I think pageants are just awful for kids.

  • I so agree with you and you are natural Beauty she is a perfect example of true Beauty yall Haters need to stop Hating and make a video of yourself and see what people say.

  • Your making a big deal out of it is fun for the girls come down

  • Oh god why bring isabella nd scarletts over the top mom into this worst mom out of the pageant bis ever!

  • who else laughed when the mother said the swimsuit was 'tasteful' and age appropriate' ha, dream on..

  • Pagents are TERRIBLE for those childeren who don't like them. But it is a whole different story for the kids that love it.

  • if the kids agree then its fine, its there biss not youurs.

  • lady, look in the camera. not at your face on screen.

  • You look like Alice Cullen

  • Fantastic job on the video!! unfortunately will not change the minds of those who put more importance on outer "beauty" and then pass their values down to their offspring....

  • OH MY GOD. its a fucking point of view. if you agree good for you. if you dont, DONT COMMENT no body cares. if you deep down feel quilty you wouldnt be cursing them out or getting pissed off. i was a pageant princess and im not mad?

    have a good day.

  • they shouldn't allow ignorant rednecks to have kids!

  • Nic123peace But glue is for swim wear so that your bathing suit doesn't move in the back when you are modeling it on stage. trust me it does! If you want them to learn the good and bad side of everthyhing not just pageants. videos like this should have both sides not just one side! it is sad that people like this woman on this video is just one sided. ** end rant ** peace all xoxo Starre36

  • I have an issue with this video: I have done pageants too, but this video is too ONE SIDED POINT OF VIEW! What about the others who like them? I hate the hair spray and make up. It is healthy to loose a little weight, you don't want an anorexic or bulimic kid in pageants! But, being healthy and teaching them about the right things like nutrition and exercise for these things is also good and pageants do that too. see more above

  • Ok, I think she nailed it. However the older girls want to do it just like they want to dance or sing or play softball etc. The moms with the younger ones ( SamiJo) are living through their children! also if that were my sister I would be very sad because al the attention is given to the girls who do the pageant. Ok one time at a paeant, a 32 yer old woman competed and she was serious about ir. That's ridiculous. When you look at the moms, they have insecurities and they don't want their daught

  • Pedobear's dream..... XD

  • To do pageants I said "no ill lose cuz I'm ugly". Now I look back and realize I was cute back then and wish I had done pageants because then maybe id have some self esteem

  • Eh I was never in pageants and yet I still grew up wanting nothing more than to be gorgeous. My life goal by 18 was to be a playmate. From how messed up and shallow I came out to be, I figure I might as well have done pageants since I was going to grow up screwed up anyway. The importance of beauty is emphasized via all media sources. Its pretty impossible to shelter your kids from it. At 5 I already had low enough self esteem that when my mom asked if I wanted

  • Girls love doing them. Second I have been sprat tanning since I was 7 I love it. It's organic so it is not bad for you. And the makeup oh god. There is nothing wrong with putting make up on a little kid. There is nothing wrong with any of this. So leave everyone in this video alone!!!

  • Ok fuck you! First off my cousin does pageants. I go to everyone and all of the little girs

  • My whole family does patents like this. I used to do them, my sister is 8 and I don't know about y'all but We have had a great time with pageants. I love putting on the makeup and dressing up it's fun.

It's just like getting ready for a cheerleading competition or a dance competition it's all in good fun. I have never had low self esteem nor do I wear makeup!! And I'm 15!

So the next time y'all jump to conclusions, make sure you go in it with a open mind.

  • the kids should be at least 10 and ask you to be in pageants, not be forced. The mothers on toddlers and tiaras, little miss perfect etc are living through their kids. any child that is older, and decides on their own to do it, is actually a good influence; not bad. If anybody disagrees, well, why do you? Reply to this comment everybody!!!

  • I think if kids actually want to do this its okay but it needs to be more age appropriate.

These smaller kids who are forced into it may have smiles on their faces but their eyes are blank.

  • fuck you!!!!! trying to put your little girls in pageants!!!!!!!!!!

  • OUTSTANDING! Unfortunately, women need to maintain their self worth and confidence despite expectations to live up to unrealistic standards of beauty. Children should be protected from this and sexualization so they can focus on developing character based confidence and have the opportunity to cultivate a healthy foundation of skills to deal with those messages later in life.

  • *claps* Well done!!! Totally AGREE!!!!!!!!!

  • Well done Schmiddlebopper, love your work!

  • I can't imagine the pressure to win beauty pageants by being beautiful would be very great for self esteem. When I was little I used to think it was awesome that I could out run all the boys.. not that my hair was bigger and poofier than everyone elses.

It makes me feel a bit sad.. especially when the mothers of these kids aren't very encouraging..

  • AWESOME JOB!

  • :/ is wrong to laugh at toddler & tiaras?

  • i heard horse-face mom @ 1:13 actually has a penis.

  • that was such a good video!

  • @Nic123peace Pageant contestants use this spray adhesive to keep their swimsuit in place while they model in swimwear.

  • Extreme restraint and the beauty of personality over sex and skin exposure.

  • Some little girls enjoy the competition, but parents take to the extreme. It would be fine in extreme$ moderation, but it's insane how far these parents go with skin exposure, make-up, and sexing their children. If the kids want to, fine. But try to excersise

  • i love how a lot of the moms are ugly...

  • I think that the most important thing for a young child is to play and learn. These parents say that they are teaching their children to be confident but they are really molding what their child thinks she needs to look like to be beautiful, successful. The thing that comes to my mind the most after watching this is what these girls will be like when they grow up. Still in pageants, fighting their parents to get out, possibly a train wreck of a person who needs crowns to prove her self worth.

  • wtf is butt glue?

  • @Nic123peace It keeps their bathing suits from riding up...Yeah I watch that show too muchh haha

  • @Nic123peace its just his glue like stuff, that helps your outfits nt ride up.:) itsalo commoly use in Dance!

  • @Nic123peace spray that you put in their bathing suits so they wont sag

  • @Nic123peace they use it so the swim-suit bottoms don't fall down. i saw it on another video about it.

  • @Nic123peace It's glue that the mother puts on their butt cheeks so the bikini bottom doesn't slide up their butt like a thong. Yeah. All my friends do pageants. I do gymnastics because I don't want someone else to decide if I'm beautiful or not. Who's with me!

  • @Nic123peace i don't want to know! :)

  • I completely agree! Some children really enjoy pageants and that is fine but like you said, usually the parents push them. It isn't fair for these girls to have this idea that they are nothing without their looks.

  • i agree with everything that you guys said in this video i just feel bad for the kids who dont want to do pageants AND for the kids who love it and get ridicule for it.. :( but yea spray tanning and all that stuff is just icky

  • this show disgusts me

  • Nice. :DD

  • really good!

haha i watch this show all the time and gag because it's so sad.

  • well done!

  • hi
