  • She was amazing then, and is still amazing to this day!! She has a beautiful voice unlike anyone I've heard!!

  • I have to mention the great Al Good Orchestra who always played during the National Finals Rodeo as long as it was in Oklahoma City. Also, for the PRCA rodeo during the state fair. RIP, Al Good. :-)

  • THis is my favorite! Red Seagle is awesome! :D

  • I was there. I heard that. We were all like....shut up....listen to this...who IS this gal? It was even better in person. And now....well the rest is history! Love Reba!!

  • I absolutely adore her!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE REBA MCENTIRE! She's the best!

  • I love reba so much! I would do anything for her! I just can't help but smile my biggest smile when I see her face! It can easily be said that she is my hero. I hope I get the chance to meet her one day.

  • OMG this is soooo awesome! I love her!

  • This sounded like a circus event with the tuba and trambone...where are the elephants and the trapeeze artists?

  • Why didn't she sing the American national anthem at the Super Bowl? She's the only one who's able to give me goosebumps when listening to a foreign anthem!

  • This is my favorite performance of the National Anthem ever!!!!!!!! Reba is the greatest and always will be!!!!!!

  • I LOVE IT!! :D

  • Yay she didnt add any notes to it just as it was written GOOD JOB REBA!!! ^.^

  • I love how you can hear the twang in her voice.

  • I think this was in 1974 . 8 years before I was born. The people who were there that day didnt know how big of an impact she was going to make on country music in the decades to come.

  • she's lost some of that twang over the years!

  • I love it when someone actually sings the National Anthem the way it wass written.

    Nice job Reba!

  • OMG she is so cute! Look like a little sweet girl :D And the voise of an angel

  • lovely. just the song, no vocal acrobatics.

  • Best performance of "The National Anthem" I've ever heard, great job Reba.

  • Reba does an awesome job in this video

  • These days, you can still hear hints of that little girl in Reba's voice. XD

  • go reba...she really is the best!

  • She hit that high note. She is really freaking good.

  • This video is the day when she got discovered

  • @kellywbluegrass And the rest is history, now she's a MEGA TRIPLE THREAT STAR!!!

  • How old was Reba in this video

  • Reba was 19.

  • it is amazing to see how successful she bacame all after that one performance in 1974!

  • Aww! She's so young. She looks great in this video.

  • Wow, she looks so different!

  • what heck do u people care about her accent just worry about her singing which in my opinion is great

  • I adore her voice as well. In a world where speaking with a southern accent automatically labels you an uneducated hick to the jetset crowd Rebas pride in her heritage and refusal to alter her accent is worth celebrating IMHO.

  • if u have nothing nice to say dont say nothin at all. OK!!!!

  • He was saying something nice... he was praising her for keeping her accent in spite of the stereotypes. He was not condoning the stereotypes :-)

  • Her accent is why I love her music. That Twang along with her voice tricks makes her one of the most unique voices in country music. Her accent has never left her and on some outtakes of her Reba tv show there is one part where she try's to say ice and can't do it without her accent coming through. When you listen to the Radio you automatically know when it's Reba because of her accent and I'm glad she never lost it.

  • When I was little I new that it was Reba and turned her up got in truble a few times but did not care

  • i love reba! her accent is so think in this video!!

  • This was where Reba was "discovered" - singing the National Anthem at a Rodeo Championship in 1974. She would have been 19 years old. I'm always trying to find more of the CMT Giants performance. There are some vids, but I know the whole thing isn't on here. If someone has it, please post more! Thanks!!!

  • Gsh she was so pretty (and still is)! Reba is my hero!!!

  • how old was reba in this?? does anybody know?

  • i believe she's about 17

  • she was 18

  • Reba was 19

  • wow 19!!!!

  • yes it is

  • reba is so amazing my hero!

  • I would be shaking if that was me! She did an awesome job! Who knew she would be the queen of country music after this?!

  • Again AWSOME

  • One of the best version of the USA national anthem

  • That's the day she got discovered, isnt it?

  • Yep by redd stegal

  • Love her voice - what a great clip!

  • how can u not love her its so funny out of narvel her mom and shelby she clapped the most for herself!

  • wait a sec! am I mistaken or did her eyes change color lol in this video she has brown eyes but these days she has bright blue eyes! did they change on their own or does she wear contacts?

  • Oh My Gosh I Just Realized That Too ...

    It's Either What You're Thinking ...

Or It Could Be Just The Camera.

    Doesn't Really Matter ...

    I Mean Come On , She's Reba!

  • when people have blue eyes they tend to change color with the clothes they wear and the background their in. I know mine's went from blue to green to brown all in the same day before. and does it really matter? come on she's Reba!!!

  • Her eyes are a true blue, sometimes true blue eyes can appear brown depending on the lighting. Light blue eyes like Paul Newmans always appear blue on film, Rebas are dark blue, no contacts.

  • wow! how old was she here?

  • I Agree : How Can You NOT ♥ Reba McEntire? I Did A Google Search On Her And I Saw This One Result Where It Said CMT Giants For REBECA McEntire. Boy Was I Furious!!! It's REBA People , REBA!!! Anyways , ♥ Her!!!

  • she is awsome

  • who cannot love reba? any reb a h8er is on my blacklist! lol jk

  • how can you not love Reba McEntire! ^_^

  • her teeth look different.... she's just cute as a button... i love the way she says "whose".... super twangy u can tell it's b4 she had voice lessons.... gotta LOVE reba!!

  • She never had vocal coaching to lose the accent, she refused when it was suggested and I say "way to go girl". Why should every American sound like they're from New York or LA, the New York accent (what I've heard on TV shows) to this foreigners ears is horrid, they should talk try to talk like Reba. Her accent is great. Her accent is only softer now because she hasn't lived in Oklahoma for many years.

  • I've known her family for many years. Her ex, Charlie is a good friend and her folks are really good, down to earth people. Just ol' cow folk.....

  • Reba is a classic! THE BEST!!! Her voice has gitten much stronger over the years, but it was strong when she sang this! REBA IS THE BEST!!! I LOVE HER!!! I AM DEFINATELY REBA's BIGGEST FAN...just check out my favorite videos!

  • Omg, thats the performance that god Reba discovered!!! [: Thank god for that day.

  • yea i kno i hate it when people sing the anthem with a twist! u should listen to carrie underwood! she sings it great too!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Reba she is my hero I'm her biggest fan

  • sorry rebamcentirefan, but I think crazy4reba is really her number one fan. unless youre psycho for reba? is there a psycho for reba anywhere out there??

doesnt look like it. if you wanna change your name, you can have the title, but merely being a fan isnt enough.

  • LOL! That just made my day. I guess I don't understand why people feel the need to say they're somebody's biggest fan when honestly it doesn't matter. It's really not a competition.

  • OMG!! reba wuz like the first person i heard that didnt sing the anthem with a twist. i think it sounds a lot better this way.

  • it doesn't really sound like reba...

  • she was in her early 20s

  • She wasnt 19 i dont think i think she was in her very very very early 20's like 22 maybe im not sure but i think she was in her early 20's

  • How old was she? she sounded very young and looked young

  • About 19, she was still a student at Southern Oklahoma State University in Durant. She was born on March 28, 1955 and sang this sometime in 1974. Rodeo attendee and country singer Red Steagall suggested that she go to Nashville to pursue a solo career.

  • Wow!! This is most direct, straightforward version of the star spangled banner i've heard. It gives you a lump in your throat...it comes straight from the heart

  • This is a cool vid of Reba!!!I LOVE HER VERSION OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM!!!

  • That video must be her very first public appearance and song... And her luck begins after that performance...

  • Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,

What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,

O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?

And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave

O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

  • her accent is so noticable!

  • Reba sings this so wonderful! I LOVE her version

  • WOW great vocals

  • i know there AMAZING!!! does anyone know how old she is. i thought i read somewhere that this was taken in the 1970's somewhere in there.

  • She's 19 there.

  • seriously she hella good

  • 1974

  • She turned 52 here recently.
