  • The rock and roll hall of fame can go to hell.......it is not worthy of the Moodies

  • this song was so comforting when I was little and had to go to bed and didn't want to.

  • This song is so beautiful. The mellotron adds so much emotion to Justins lyrics. Of all the Moody songs out there on You Tube, I think I have returned to this one the most. It is just that moving. Cuz I know I'm gonna find...my peace of mind...someday.....

  • Why worry if they are in the Rock n roll hall of fame? They are something completely different. They exist in their world.

  • A beautiful song by Justin Hayward. Notice how the harmony in the guitars matches the harmony in the vocals. My favorite song from "Seventh Sojourn". The 10 people on here who clicked "dislike" obviously hate music.

  • So agree with all the comments - there is no music like theirs - it is so beautiful and timeless.- sometimes brings tears to the eye with the sheer beauty of it - hope to see them again - hate it that many of us are getting older right along with them - but their music now touches all ages and we will always have it

  • @70blugirl The moody's had and have a style all their own. They deserve to be in the rock and roll hall of fame undesputedly.

  • One of the most beautiful songs I ever heard in my entire life!

  • Oh how I love this song...it is absolutely beautiful

  • This song always reminds me of my Dad...he died in 1976 this song helped me through that time. Thank You Justin Hayward for your lyrics and helping me through that time!

  • nine people DEFINATELY need therapy, it's such a BEAUTIFUL song.

  • Not that it's ever been easy, but being a romantic in these times is extremely difficult. Thankfully, the Moody Blues provide a sanctuary for us.

  • When I made my posting about this song I accidentally mentioned this song being on the Octave album when actually its on the Seventh Sojourn album.... No matter what album its on its been one of my favorites....

  • remember playing this over and over backn 77 when my girlfriend finished with me,,i was so in love with her ..i still listen and love this song although it brings a smile to my face now rather than tears..such a beautiful song.....

  • sort of stunned why 9 people don't like this..music and poetry at it's best.

  • @kawapilot same here mate, what a bunch of confused individuals... sigh... I like to think we outnumber them tho :)

  • @MegaSprinks looking at the comments left here, it is true what you've posted. So many out there that have a proper understanding of real lyrics, not the manufactured brain washing tripe that passes as music today.

    keep well.

    regards everybody.. Jim.

  • this song made me cry like a baby in 1972 when I bought the Octave album.....it still has that effect no matter how many times I listen to this song. In 1972 I bought a Sansui sound system....its still going strong....and so are the Moody Blues......They are timeless

  • @Ganggreene100 it was on Seventh Sojurn. Other than that, your emotions are my own too.

  • De muziek van de Moody Blues is zo tijdloos. Zo emotievol, zo intens muzikaal. En van al die prachtige songs is New Horizons misschien wel de allermooiste! Misschien... want hoe bepaal je dat? New Horizons raakt mij iedere keer weer diep in mijn ziel. De tekst, de orkestratie, de emotionele spanning van de gitaarsolo (dat ene rifje... kippenvel...) En natuurlijk de prachtige stem van Justin. New Horizons is een geschenk!

  • Good stuff!!

  • I'm sitting here, listening too this wonderful song, crying my eyes out. I lost my father, my brother and my father-in-law within a 2 month period not too long ago. This tune and many more by the Moodies, have let me remember the great!!! times I had with these wonderful men. I miss them so much, but, I know they will always live on in the great music of this incredible band. Thank-you so much coloradream.

  • this song brought tears to my eyes in 1972 and still does to this day.....

  • @yuvegotmale I just love this song and the pictures.

  • I played this album to death and it's still a regular listen on my itunes.

Saw them live in 78 and it was a great show.

  • In short the choice is ego or true self, until realising the latter the music ,the

lyrics, the message are hidden, along with the"experience" of living...

  • Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like!

There, that cancels out those pesky dislikes.

If I ruled the world, this song would be on every moodies concert setlist :)

  • since 1972 this song has and always will blow me away!

  • Thanks colordream, I love this song............

  • 9 dislikes? Goes to show you, you can't please everyone. This is simply

one of the finest songs ever recorded.......period.

  • the first time I heard this song I was driving home back in 1972 and decided to go buy the album. FANTASTIC , one of my all time favorites

  • Thanks to my Uncle Rick for introducing me to this song, and for the title for my book...I LOVE YOU

  • This is such a powerful song. I think of those who have gone before me that i love. I know they are waiting on new horizons. This song gives me hope and comfort. The new horizon is heaven where there is no more wars and eternal peace. God bless you all! PEACE now because we need it more than ever!

  • One word "beautiful"

  • This song gives me goosebumps from head to toe damn near every time I hear it,whether I'm drinking or not. Now THATS saying something.

  • Two wines and I find myself here. I ain't seen her since 1992, and the dreams are still haunting me. These guys, Tom Waits, and Van Morrison all do it.

  • I have always loved this song, but your video has brought a whole new dimension to it. VERY NICE!!! Thanks so much!

  • Justin at his best. This song is the only one not included on the Red Rocks CD that was performed at the Colorado concert. The video of the concert aired on PBS is first rate....but I worn out mine.

  • Love this song ; ) : )

  • Song of Solomon 5:8

Such is the language of the believer panting after present fellowship with Jesus, he is sick for his Lord. Gracious souls are never perfectly at ease except they are in a state of nearness to Christ; for when they are away from Him they lose their peace. The nearer to Him, the nearer to the perfect calm of heaven; the nearer to Him, the fuller the heart is, not only of peace, but of life, and vigour, and joy, for these all depend on constant intercourse with Jesus

  • @27Jesusgirl The King James Version reads "I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, If you find my beloved, That you tell him I am lovesick!" In Jesus Christ name alone are souls saved.

  • @jobehuron yeah : )

  • @27Jesusgirl .... bless you for such powerful words and standing up for Jesus .

  • Justin told me I'm ugly

  • humbled and greatfull

  • Love this song and really enjoyed the fotos with it.

  • i suffered a terrible loss recently, and i'm never going to lose the precious gift this person left behind for me...i'm glad this song came into my mind after his passing because it's so eloquent and i know that i will see him again one day

  • These guys are dreamers and great to listen to...great song Justin.

  • With all the beautiful songs the Moody Blues have recorded, it's hard to say which one is my favorite. I must say 'New Horizons' is one of my top two or three songs. I've been a fan since 1967 when Days Of Future Past came out. I tear up when I hear 'New Horizons'. My son once asked me, "Dad, of all the Moody Blues songs, which is your favorite?" I answered, "which ever one I'm listening to at that moment."

  • I have just been informed by the good folks at wikipedia that THE RONETTES were inducted into the RnR hall of "fame" in 2007. This is beyond my ability to comprehend. How can any sane person square the fact that they are in and the IMMORTAL Moody Blues are not? "Days Of Futures Past" no, but "be my baby" yes? I'll bet the worlds greatest living skank madonna will be in soon as well. Who's next? Night Ranger? "scuse me, imma go bite my pillow and snort some chocolate milk. much love 2 my YT peeps

  • Forty years ago, these folks "spoke" to me in their music...just stop what you are doing and listen. Lyrically and musically excellent.

    =]

  • If you've ever loved someone more than life itself and then lost them, The Moody Blues & Blue Jays songs are a beautiful torture. No other band has achieved the romantic depth of emotion like the Moody Blues. Their music penetrates my soul and helps me keep my green eyed darling in my heart. Justin especially is a true musical genius and gifted man. He writes the soundtrack to love. This statement is pretty mushy, but I know you all understand exactly what these feelings are. Peace and love.

  • @yoga628rusk839 ...Beautiful torture,,,for 40 years I have tried to capture how they (Moodies) make me feel...you nailed it. Now, talking about The Moody Blues are a link to eternity and their beautiful music will be with us forever. How's that foe "mushy".

  • @englishsunset Another stranger that is actually more like a brother. Thank you and yes, we get it. As a life long guitar player and singer, this music has inspired me profoundly with no end in site. I listen to and play a wide variety of music, but this is the stuff -my private batch to take in when I need to get deep. It reminds me that even the sense of loss is in fact the memory of approaching near perfection. Find the beauty and love in life my friends.

  • Believe me, we know, and I know. Couldn't agree with you more!! God bless!

  • @yoga628rusk839 Many people use lyrics to song to describe a part of their life. This one, for anyone who knows what love and to be loved is like, can relate to nearly anyone. One of my favourite Moody's songs.

  • amuuuuuuuuuuu....a muito tempo...

  • A truly transcendentally beautiful song.

  • Cos i know i'm going to find my own peace of mind someday.

  • excellent vid to the song!! A+++

  • and i know im gonna find myyyy peace of mind some dayyyy....may we all find our peace...love ya all...great to be in america....TY forever to justin, john, the fabulous mr edge, ray and mike who has gone ahead and jammin with jimi RIGHT NOW...rock on...

  • I'm never gonna lose your precious gift...

  • I'm never gonna lose our precious gift...

  • Incredible images too go along with a beautiful song. This is probably my favorite tune by The Moody Blues. The lyrics, the musical background, absolutely amazing!! This band will always be in my mind and in my soul. Love them.

  • melancholic and beautiful -

  • Awesome song, one of my favorite MB songs and stunning imagery.

  • one of the best

  • NEED INFO PLEASE....the second to the last image, a painting of a girl reaching up into the sky, does anyone know the artist and or the name of the painting?

    Much Thanks, Cindy, Columbus Ohio

  • @whoadude1959 did you ever find out. That is a VERY compelling picture!

  • @vschauf

nope, not a single word yet...I've tried to find it elsewhere on-line but no luck, let me know if you do. Thanks!

  • Who could not like this!? The memories, the memories...

  • have loved this song forever

  • This song brings back fond memories of a girl I knew many years ago who introduced me to the Moody Blues, Kung Fu and love =)

    Brad, California

  • 8 people don't have love, hopes or dreams

  • @brennan60100 That's the only explanation the works for me. Or worse yet, they never did have any...

  • Beautiful music, great for de-stressing. I'm sure this music comes from God.

  • Divinely inspired perfection. This song is moving beyond words.

  • I have loved New Horizons ever since I first heard it more than 40 years ago. What a heartfelt song! Justin makes his guitar almost cry out with the same emotions he puts into his singing. Justin's talent amazes me everytime I hear their music, which is everyday.

  • when i first heard this song oh so many years ago i cried at the sheer perfection and beauty of both the lyrics and the music...40 years later i still am moved to tears...this song is a taste of heaven, god listens to the moody blues...my endless thanks to justin, please play this song at my funeral and everyone MUST cry...peter in cincinnati

  • @akitaman101

Glad I'm not the only one who cries when I hear this song....

    Cindy/Columbus Ohio

  • @whoadude1959 ty cindy...never feel bad about being moved by beautiful things, that is why we have them...i wrote a poem based on that line several days later...stay cool! its hot here in o-hi-o!

  • @borecleaner1 They are simply in a class all by themselves.

  • @m7j23s53 Absolutely,I think God is a Moody Blues fan,has all the original masters on his own playlist.......

  • @borecleaner1 LOVE your comment!!!! And yes, I think God definitely has the Moody Blues on His iPod!!!

  • @akitaman101 "God listens to the moody blues"... I would not be suprised! It's great Christian music. :)

  • @jobehuron Actually, it's simply 'great' music. Try to refrain from staking claim on things you dont own.

  • @356ALX Uhu... and what did you just do?

  • As I listen to this, I can feel my daughters' hand laid upon her Mom, and mine atop. I will always feel this way. Things didn't work out , we didn't marry, and eighteen years later my tears come to be. "I have Love enough for three". I wish her the very best Mothers' Day. I was able to give my daughter some lilies, and asked to pass some onto her Mom. and sent my Emily this song.

Things didn't work out , we didn't marry, and eighteen years later my tears come to be. "I have Love enough for three". I wish her the very best Mothers' Day despite it all. • I lost my first love, and we would listen to this whole album. This song takes me back to my memories of him and also gives me comfort.

  • An incredible band who wrote and performed such beautiful music. I also grew up with this band. Their melodies, their lyrics are masterful. One of my, if not, my favorite band of all time. I can listen to them anytime, anywhere. They bring tears to my eyes. TEARS OF JOY!!!!! It's very hard to pick a favorite tune by the Moody Blues. They have so many, but, this one is one of my favorites. Thank-you for posting this wonderful song.

  • Orsome pictures and great song. Well done MB.

  • Beautiful...very haunting....

  • either "new horizons" or "watching and waiting". cant decide which one should be the soundtrack for my life.

  • One of my all time favorite songs. Gets me every time I hear it.. How can these guys not be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

  • @porico51 The Rock and roll Hall of Fame should be renamed the Rock and Roll Hall of Shame for not inducting them. Have a nice day.

  • This is Amazing! The video has all of the images that this song paints in your mind!

  • listen to that mellotron ....... it makes this song sound absolutely "one of a kind" great

  • This is real music.. real art. Absolutely beautiful.

  • FANTASTIC BAND!!

  • This song brings me to tears. It reminds me of my Dad, who passed away in 2004. I'm 35 now, and it was him who showed me the Moody Blues when I was just a child. Very few bands have touched my soul as the Moody Blues have...

  • @TheEarthBelow Sounds like the story of myself and my mother, who passed away in 2009. This song makes me bawl almost every time because the Moody Blues were her favorite band and she introduced them to me as a really little girl. My favorite band too. :)

  • Beautiful Music!

  • Great vid to a great song. Thanks Coloradream.

  • One of my favourite Moody Blue songs, hurry back to the U.K BOYS!

  • For my last day on earth: Moody Blues, New Horizons, at Night of the Proms.

    The orchestra.... the chorus....

  • This song has "kept me going" many times in my life.

  • @BooeyHogue

I think it has kept a lot of us going.

I lost my only son to the Iraq war, and the Moody Blues give me peace.

  • @TheHeenow

    God bless you.

  • @megteetle

I wish they were in my family room right now. I took my 12-year-old granddaughter (his daughter) to see them, and John waved at her. It was the most special moment of her young life. I think that they are so genuine that if they knew the circumstances they would actually spend a few minutes with her.

I miss my son so much....

    Thanks for your love,

    Don

  • @TheHeenow My heart goes out to you, Don. I thank your son for serving our country and giving the ultimate sacrifice for our protection. I thank you for raising that hero.

  • @TheHeenow God Bless you and your son. There are no words I can say to you that will comfort you, but as one who also served for 23 years total, I too am very proud of your son. I again am very sorry for your loss. Maybe a saying I wrote for my church will help. "So long as he is in our hearts he shall always live."

  • @TheHeenow

Oh my darling, I cannot imagine your sorrow. I am with you. Please believe me that we never die. He is alive. I have lived manytimes and can remember. I beg you believe me. My heart pors to you stay strong. You will meet again. Feel him, he is alive.

I know how you feel. There is an eternity and a gentle invitation to pacience, in the Moody blues.

I find that too and I find my father when I hear them too.I lost him when I was only a girl of 9 Lovefromme dear stranger. Katia Leitao

  • @TheHeenow My deepest and most profound condolensces at the passing of your son.I have listened to the Moody Blues since I was in middle school in the early 70's.I have gone to their m usic many times in my life for comfort and solace also.............Quiet Days and Quiet Nights to you and yours.............

  • @TheHeenow I'm sorry to hear this. I feel for you. Its tough out there. People are so wrapped up in themselves they forget others like your son was standing in for them. Signed: a Vienam Vet that only had a Cab Driver welcome him back home.

  • @trollerguy From a Desert Storm vet to you: Welcome Home

  • @TheHeenow I am so sorry for the loss of your son, it breaks my heart. I don't know what I would do if I lost my son, I don't know how I'd carry on. God bless your strength

  • @TheHeenow I m sure you ll find him someday

  • @TheHeenow I'm very sorry for your loss.

  • ... I am missing my father, tonight. He was a lifelong musician, and I have followed in his tracks. He was always my best friend. I'm never gonna lose your precious gift, it will always be that way... I Love You, Dad

  • Excelente siempre la música de The Moody Blues. En España por desgracia no han sido muy conocidos. Yo los llevo escuchando desde que tenía 12 años, a finales de los 70.

  • the moodies have been a mainstay in my life ,,, i wish they knew how many times this song has helped me through terrible times ,,,,, a truly beautiful song

  • Beautiful!

  • Beautifully done video! The song is served well. Thank you!

  • One of the most inspired albums of moody blues

  • Peaceful and serene. Love this one by the MB's. Very nice video.

  • thanks to someone special for sharing this link with me. This is a beautiful song and I really love the sentiment that was sent with it

  • Totally agree with twinklebear22 - I was going through my younger years when they were around. I was very influenced by The Moody Blues Music - 'Music' being the operative word! Totally awesome and still sounds as fantastic today as it did back then - I have some their albums in vinyl but have since purchased some CD's of them because I love listening to them so much. Justin Hayward! -What a hottie!♥

  • @Hugs4Michael Thank you my friend!! And yes, Justin Hayward is a true hottie!! Wow!! :)

  • Wow! Bravo! Colaradream you really captured the essence of the Moody Blues in picture form. Now that is the brilliance of true art. Keep up the good work. Peace.

  • Remembering when I would put my album on...listen to these songs over and over. I love this one so much. I still remember the words. Amazing!!

  • Tony Hoy I still love you!! Even though you hate me!!

  • @Motuorg You got that straight.............When I listen to the great music I grew up with,It's almost as thought I have magically gone back through ther years back to a simpler time...mostly I think of people I knew and going through school and the military and such...............

  • absolutely flawless song!

  • @johntellmewhy I get absolutely LOST in their music.back to a simpler time

  • I can honestly say that the greatest surpise birthday present I ever got was back in '75 when my girlfriend.. (making me put on a blindfold till we got there), took me to see the Moody Blues at the Aneheim Convention Ctr, CA.... They played all their hit songs..including this one..the one that hits home deep in my heart ever since I first heard it to this day. And yes...it was a spiritual experience I will never forget! THANK YOU, LYNELLE ! ALWAYS..

  • A wonderful thing to do for those who appreciate the wonders of thought

  • Fantastic song...........brilliant vocals and backing is superb.........great band!!!!

  • Yes I agree. This song is beautiful. The Moody Blues are talented.

  • Funny that I can still sing along word for word and I haven't heard this for nearly 40 years. Thanx for posting .***** :)

  • @slugg63 You and me both.......The Moody Blues tunes I grew up with have this power to roll back the years and take me back to a simpler time............

  • The most unique & 1 of the BEST bands ever! Huge fan since 1970. Well ahead of their time. Seen them play A LOT. Their music is timeless.

This song is of special significance to me. Speaks for much of my life w/my first love. Altho he never knew he was. Took me to be 30 to know what love was really all about. He gave me that 'special gift' of complete sharing; mind, body & soul. Then, the nightmare of losing it all. As w/this magical band, no other will ever come close. Thanks MB & Tony.

  • ....and, coloradream, you are SO GOOD at co-ordinating visuals with Moody Blues' music. Such WONDERFUL visions. Thank you!

  • Old but absolutely immortal, just like the great musical masters. Beyond words...... deeply touches the soul... just the very best. Thanks !

  • One of Justin's finest piecies of work, great guitar work in perfect harmony with Mike's mellotron and of course some of the sweetest lyrics u will ever hear. Possibly written with oncoming birth of his daughter, Doremi, who was born after this was recoreded in 1972

  • the guitar is so special... it reminds me a little bit of the early Brian May style of the mid 70s... but Hayward was first this was released 8 months prior to the 1st Queen record...

sometimes the 1st guitar solo makes me think to some kind of a melted swiss cheese!

  • BOB & ANGEL THIS ONE IS FOR YOU!

  • A really incredible song. It is easily the most hauntingly beautiful song I have ever heard. I keep listening to it and will never grow tired of it. I am sharing it with everyone I know.

  • My husband and I had my uncle sing this song when we got married on April 12, 1980. The Lutheran Church would not allow us to have this song, so we got married in the Catholic Church, and they allowed the song to be played at our wedding. There was not a dry eye in the house as my uncle played/sang this song, and that day was magical/mystical.

We divorced, and I later remarried, but my second husband died, and now, my first husband and I are re-connecting, and it is is so awesome.

  • @kayO1956

Kay - this is a beautiful story. To have a Justin tune performed at a marriage, or even in a passing on to eternity. Can't imagine such beauty. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this.

  • AND OF COURSE THE ROCK N ROLL HALL OF FAME WANTS TO PUT IN the BEASTIE BOYS!! No Moodie Blues....no no.

NO MOODIES.....because the Moodies are not good enough.....yea right.
