Great tutorial! But i'm having some problems. In my recording devices, the normal white icon, there is no stereo mix. So i do as you say and install the HD Audio Codecs in Realtek and upon completion, it's as if nothing changed. Even after reboot. There in no orange icon and no Realtek in my control panel. It is in my C drive programs but there's no .exe or anything like that. My normal recording devices still doesn't have stereo mix either. Please help!

@kpvd1234 From what i tried to figure out, they removed the stereomix option totally cos people kept ripping stuff off the net or something like that. The options were to go back to drivers which had steroemix or install programs that enable stereomix. Downgrading didn't work for me. Maybe i'm did it wrong. And i couldn't find an appropriate programme. I just gave up on recordind... If you find an easy way tell me!

@JediJennifer I had the same thing, just go and set your mic as your default device and default communication device, that's what i did and it seemed to work instantly. Also fraps has a small box now, that allows and external audio device, check the box and make sure its your headset or microphone.

My problem is a bit more weird. I can't record both my microphone and in-game audio in certain games, like Minecraft, the FIFA 12 demo or CS Source. In those games I only get my microphone. However, when I did what you've shown here, I only get in-game audio even though my microphone is ticked off in both Fraps and "Recording Devices". In games like WoW, StarCraft 2 and BF: Bad Company 2 it's working fine without "your" settings. I'm using a Xonar DS audio card, by the way.

@westsadventures Fraps automatically records at the highest quality, it's the FPS you can change. To get 720p you'll need to change the render settings in your Video Editor, take Sony Vegas for example, after you create your video click File > Render as... And there will be a dropdown for templates, find the one with 720p = 30 and you'll render in 720p. Most other editors are the same and Windows Live Movie Maker automatically has an HD render setting, but who the fuck uses WLMM these days?
