Song was done by Matt and pitched at his wedding on the piano, Jimmy took the song and ran with it. It was recorded with him still alive. The backing vocals are actually his. Mike did nothing but play it live. He wanted to change some sections but the band made the decision to keep the song (and album) as original Jimmy as possible.

So Arin Ilejay(Confide's old drummer) is touring with Avenged Sevenfold till February next year and theyre taking a break afterwards. I think A7X should go on break for the rest of 2012, and they should make a kick ass return at 2013 with Joel Piper as their new drummer, A7X deserves Joel and Joel deserves to be in A7X.
PS. Arin is a good drummer but I dont want him to get the new spot in A7X.

I probably commented on here before, but all I have to say is I was at this show, and it was my first A7X show ever. It was honestly the best concert I've ever been to. So many emotions running through me that night!
And Arin, by the way, was awesome. He was better than I expected and I love that kid to pieces. He definitely does Jimmy's work justice, and the boys have said countless times that they love him and think he's great. I'd be happy if they chose him to stay as a permanent member.
@crazyshiznetts45 put them to a metronome. Rev always fluxed a little bit with his kick. Hes still my favorite. Rev was borderline horrible on the first album. Arin is tighter but, I have yet to hear anything to suggest he has better vision. "not ready to die" is a good song and the drums are extremely tight but, they don't have the chaotic touch the rev had.

dude Arin is just a really good drummer, we cant compare him with The Rev or even with Mike Portnoy because they're different drummers and each drummer has his different style but i think Arin is just killing that drums and if he can play nightmare he could play any of A7X's song. Just give him a chance, he's just begining and he's doing it really good
I like Arin much more than Portnoy. Don't get me wrong Mike was amazing, but sometimes I feel Mike made the drums sound like what HE would want them to be rather than what The Rev wrote. I feel Arin shows much more respect by sticking to The Rev's lines.
I really don't know why people are hating on Arin. He's 23, and he's doing a great job of filling Jimmy's shoes so far. I mean, just because he's not Jimmy doesn't mean you guys can't give him a chance... He's still a fucking amazing drummer, and if he's this good at 23 than he can only get better. Arin is tighter but, I have yet to hear anything to suggest he has better vision. "not ready to die" is a good song and the drums are extremely tight but, they don't have the chaotic touch the rev had.

If you need anymore proof that A7X is an extremly kick ass band look at this video every one from every area in the arena is singing every word and cheering and everybody is standing up barly anybody stood up for half of the other acts but once those lights went out the chants started for A7X. I was at this show and it still plays in my head

Saw them at Carolina Rebellion last month. He's okay, he'll never even come remotely close to The Rev, but he'll do. Sucks that Mike Portnoy couldn't stay.

dude Arin is just a really good drummer, we cant compare him with The Rev or even with Mike Portnoy because they're different drummers and each drummer has his different style but i think Arin is just killing that drums and if he can play nightmare he could play any of A7X's song. Just give him a chance, he's just begining and he's doing it really good

I like Arin much more than Portnoy. Don't get me wrong Mike was amazing, but sometimes I feel Mike made the drums sound like what HE would want them to be rather than what The Rev wrote. I feel Arin shows much more respect by sticking to The Rev's lines.

I really don't know why people are hating on Arin. He's 23, and he's doing a great job of filling Jimmy's shoes so far. I mean, just because he's not Jimmy doesn't mean you guys can't give him a chance... He's still a fucking amazing drummer, and if he's this good at 23 than he can only get better. Stop being so butt-hurt, they needed to find a new drummer eventually, and Arin is a great choice, so fuck off if you disapprove, you're not a real A7x fan.

i was at this show. :3 arin's pretty awesome. :D i'm learning to like him more and more, with each live video i see with him drumming. he's still got some to learn, and you can hear the difference between his drumming and jimmy's and mike's, but he's young and i think he will only get better in time. <3 A7X foREVer !
