According to wikipedia she's now 104! I've looked everywhere for a recent picture of her but they're impossible to find seems she retired in the 1940's and there's no recent pics of her to be found?? unless she's dead, that would explain it. i wanted to do a then & now piece of old celebrities, Barbara would have been a perfect example

In 2000 a documentary was mdae called "I USED TO BE IN PICTURES". Miriam Seeger is in it. I am dying to see it. Maybe if enough people knew it would be released.I found out about it at IMDB.

Omg i luv old things and i was just randomly looking up old movies and stuff on thanksgiving and found her and her bday was a month ago and im lk whoa! y did she stop cuz i was on wikipedia and it said when she was in her 40's her husband died and she lk stopped acting and i heard bout the sun valley thing and lk somebody should go there and send me a message talking bout it but i also heard that she refused every interview so ya but its amazing shes the last silent film actress....COME BACK

Barbara Kent, Happy Birthday!!! "Lonesome" 1928 is a classic silent film. One of the original WAMPAS Baby Stars. From the "Flapper" age to the "Digital" age, quite a life!

She was REPORTED to have been living near Sun Valley Idaho, in 2004.

As much as i'd like to think she's still alive chances are she probably passed away since then. Assuming of course the reports are correct.

She wasn't just in silent films.She was in two Harold Lloyd movies: "Feet First"and "Welcome Danger". Yes it's true that she no longer wants to talk about her past,and who can blame her,that was a long time ago.

Yes, it's amazing. But Barbara isn't 103, Mario; she is 102. She was born on December 16, 1906, and she'll turn 103 on December 16, 2009 if she doesn't leave us before (I HOPE SHE DOESN'T!)

Yes, she retired in the mid-30's and refuses to be interviewed. It's said her neighbors don't even know whe wsa in films.

@tapp247 She isn't interested in anything to do with her past life and refuses all interviews etc. She has her own farm in Idaho and has moved on with her life.I really loved her in "Flesh and the Devil" and the Harold Lloyd film "Feet First"

I remembered something... my lecturer (about 10 years ago) was visiting his grandma. She had a visitor who claimed to be the first Jane in a b&w Tarzan movie! He thought she was loony... But through enough, after he did a check, she was indeed the 1st Jane!
