  • FUCK YES!!! XD YOU ARE MY LONG LOST BRO!!!! thank you so much for making point.

  • @HaleyC1231 No offense kid, but it sounds like you are buying into the HoKIE Dokie bullshit on the right. They say people need to work. What the hell does that mean? Do they think we need them to say dumb shit like that ? Have you ever worked with a republican. They are the laziest, cheapest rottenest stealing lying motherfuckers that ever was. No offense

  • The thing is, is that, what more conservitives want is to influence us kids in the right direction so we can make this country even better. If you have noticed, the no drinking under 21 ect. a lot of the time takes away the choice of harming yourself at a young age so you grow up to be the best you can be. But, I do agree with that you can't tell people how to live thier lives. But, what conservitives also believe is that people need to work for a living.

  • idk how much i agree with your view that you can do something until it hurts someone, if you said it more along the lines of you can do whatever you want as long as it doesnt infringe on my rights then i would completely agree, is this what you ment by your statement?

  • I couldn't agree more!

  • All laws contain a moral component. Even the tax code is an attempt to make people pay their "fair share."

That said, conservatives generally want fewer and less intrusive laws. Your position is largely a straw man.

  • @dragknuckle Either way, they still have blood on their hands.

  • @herpeslip

    Explain.

  • @dragknuckle They still have blood on their hands because they advocate big government. They want Uncie Sam to make everything better, while screaming at the liberals to reduce spending, LOL!

  • @herpeslip

I guess it depends on who you mean by "they." Read some Thomas Sowell to get an idea of what conservatives (as opposed to Republican politicians) actually think. Or check out After America by Mark Steyn.

I am in full agreement that Republicans share a great deal of the blame for the present mess. But you must look at the political reality: advocating the kind of reforms necessary to save America would make you unelectable.

Politics is the art of the possible.

  • @herpeslip

When you call on politicians to shrink the size of government, you must realize the enormity of the task. You must fight big government politicians, bureaucrats, unions, the news media, the entertainment media, and every business that has a government contract. Even Ronald Reagan couldn't shut down the Department of Education, which had only existed a few years at the time he was elected.

  • @dragknuckle I will advocate small government when the "Republicans" advocate personal responsibility. Until then, let's go down together.

  • Doesn't the Constitution impose morality? It says, in essence, that certain human rights trump the will of the people.

  • I think an awful lot of people are really Libertarians in their thinking, but I don't know why that party can't gain traction. I am a Republican minus the religious and family values portion. I don't care if gay people get married It's none of my business. I just believe that capitalism is the reason our standard of living has been among the highest in the world. It isn't perfect, of course.I want to severly restrict the power of our government, and it's clear to me that Obama wants to grow it.

  • I agree with everything you just said but I have a question. How can we relate Aristotle's virtue ethics to Libertarian ethics?!

  • "If you WANT to be gay..." You lost me a little there. Overall, good perspective.

  • @DunklenHerzen If you're saying that as some sort of picky argument about people not choosing to be gay, then you need to learn how to not take what I'm saying too literally, or, if you really want to be a good thinker, would have to be willing to consider that maybe being gay IS a choice, tho I do not even come close to hinting or talking about that in this video - that'd make a good video tho

  • @AmanJohnX

Your attempt here to come off as arguably persuasive was a complete disaster. With that, your video comment made it seem as if it was suggestive that being gay was a choice. In fact, as a gay person myself, I did not wake up one day and just "decide" to turn gay. You can't take a more clear example of this issue than taking it from a gay person themselves. It's not even an argument. Being gay is just NOT A CHOICE. I'm baffled and amused.

  • @DunklenHerzen lol see, now you're making this personal with your attacks because I rubbed you the wrong way - one will, hypothetically, always be an intellectual infant if they can't consider things from a different point of view. I NEVER said being gay is a choice, I'm saying, I'm willing to consider the thought....are you?

  • ~~^~^In 2006 REPUBLICAN legislators mandated that the U.S. Postal Service(USPS) begin a 10 yr process of pre-paying all health & retirement benefits for all employees it may hire up to 75 yrs from now! THE GOAL: To create the ILLUSION that USPS, a NON tax payer funded profit making agency, is on the verge of FINANCIAL COLLAPSE! REPUBLICANS want to lay off 125,000 AMERICANS & PRIVATIZE USPS . ~~^~^~^~ REPUBLICAN RACKETEERING & GREED ARE DESTROYING AMERICA! ~~~^~^~^

    ~

  • @poindexterwitkowsky Well, if they privatize the U.S. Postal service, then they can compete with other privatized postal services like FedEx. There have been a lot of complaints on the quality of the services in government post offices and dmv's, there simply is no incentive to treat your customers right when gov. keeps them in business.

  • Hey dude, great vid. If you do another one maybe you should point out that Conservatives generally try to use the tool they claim to be inefficient and that leads to unintended consequences (government), to try and regulate morality, without realizing that that will often also lead to the very same inefficiencies and unintended consequences (war on drugs?). Sorry for the run-on sentence.

  • This is great, keep it up. I'll be watching.

  • Loved these videos! It's hard to find a guy that would rather read Aristotle than drink and party. I hope you find your intellectual equal because you're a rare specimen of good old fashioned intelligence. Which is an instant turn off for people that don't like to use their brain :) Isn't it amazing how different the notions of freedom are in the west and east? Eastern notions of freedom having less to do w/ personal liberties and more with freedom from the mind/desire. What do you think? :)

  • @bnrocks182 The eastern freedom you are talking about is not political freedom. In the east, especially China the common folks for centuries, the poltical freedom is simply to live: they did not care about the politics of the country. So long, they are left alone and able to make ends meet. It is when the emperors get greedy and expected too much from the commoners have they ever revolted. In the western world, political freedom is directly tied to the civil liberties and freedom of ideas.

  • @PyromanicShikaze You're absolutely right. My ideas about the eastern political freedoms were misconstrued. I was talking about two completely different things in my thought process. Thanks for pointing it out!!

  • Haha, I'm a Democrat and I wasn't offended by the video you made. The content was sound as was your point. Still, I knew people wouldn't like it. One of these days I'll go buy a book on Virtue Ethics by Aristotle like you told me Aman. Right after I stop working 50 hour weeks. :/

  • /watch?v=0Htf0IgrJrs this is the problem with the libertairains /watch?v=poT0X-JRrOE and here is the continuation on it while liberals are just indenpenents who believe there is a smart way to legalize drugs so that way people wont OD on them

  • republicans/libertairans are the party of death they just want to kill people and the government is put into place to help people and to put the corporations in place and liberals want to make it so drugs are legal as well and the government was put in place to help people or else we would be back with poor houses and have more people in poverty the government has already helped stop poverty but libertairans dont do their research about that

  • well your ideas that you have have been proven not to work from what history has planed out so when you go by ron pauls idologys they are all wrong because they will get people killed that is why he is just another republican

  • liberals arent always democrats most are independents and would vote democrat over republican because the republicans just want to kill people if those are the only 2 choises

  • Do you hate Federalists? lol

  • i'd also love to hear you talk about the constitution. As a foreigner (who has studied american politics quite extensively) i always find it odd how the constitution is held up like some sort of bible, and to an outsider, you sometimes get that same 'alright, it was just a text written long ago, it's particular to it's time' feeling. It almost seems like it would be sacrilege to criticise it. do you think the 'holy' status around it right or necessary?

  • Well, same complaint about the title, but again, forget PC.

I mostly agree with the points that you make, except that I think government does have a role in preventative health care. All children should receive the necessary vaccinations, check-ups, etc.

  • i really enjoyed this set of videos, really interesting points made. but i don't think it's fair to say politicians or people in general don't agree with you because they don't understand or know as much. sure, some people are stupid, but two equally, highly intelligent and learned people can validly come to different conclusions. i'm sure you don't need or want suggestions and requests, but i'd love to hear you talk about how libertarian policies would help the poor in the usa today.

  • @rrff7755 No, you're 100% right, and that's a GREAT request!

  • Thoroughly thought out and presented. Thanks.

  • I liked the part where you talked about smoking crack all day, wear ladies' underwear, and have wild gay sex with cats lmao. I liked the video though =].

  • I'm glad that you put this video up as well. Because I actually thought that you were only going to put up the other one. But obviously I was mistaken. You make very good points in both videos. Keep up the great work!
