May I ask you how do you connect pieces together and sew them onto the baby blankets and them turn out looking great JUST LOVE all your things wish I could crochet like that :) thanks
@62jenjen Hi !! If ur referring to the Teddy in the Pocket blanket I join by slip stitching the squares together. You can type in your Google 'How to Slip Stitch Crochet Squares Together' and there's a video that can show you how. If u are referring to the items on the Noah's Ark blanket and/or the Rosettes you see in some of the blankets I merely use either corresponding yarn or invisible thread. Hope this helps u ((( smiles )))
OH MY GOD! Your Blankets are Wonderful!!! My wife will be delievering our first child next month (a little girl), and i have so many ideas popping in my head that i want to do for my daughter. I AM NOT ASHAMED TO SAY IT............I WANT TO LEARN HOW TO CROCHET!!!!! LOL!!!! Please don't tell my buddies....LOL!!!! Do you have any training videos available? My God! I would love for my daughter to have a blanket as beautiful as yours, made by her Father.
@linugiri067 I surf the web and if I see any pattern I like I just go ahead with my imagination and create whatever it is I want to make. There's so much on the Internet to find. Simply type in exactly what U are looking for and explore the various sites. Mostly everything I have made I have found the stitches for online. I've only really been crocheting for a year now. If I can do it ~ anyone can. (( smiles ))
@RedBubbles303 sorry it took so long to get back to U but 200 is what I chain for the grownup afghan/lapgans I made. Those 'humps' are barely noticable only when U first make it. After U wash it , it softens right up and looks soooo nice!
@RedBubbles303 My advice to U would be to try a few rows and see if U like the outcome. I have recently completed a 'baby blanket' using soft as angora yarn and it looks lovely! (something to ponder)
@RedBubbles303 Oh yes you can. It would only make it longer for you. Just take your chain and measure it on your bed and chain as many as you would like for the length and you can make it as wide as your bed also if you desire!! It's all a matter of preference to what you want your creation to look like! ((( smiles ))
@Kakerville sorry it took me so long to reply. It took me 2 months (off & on) to complete these. 2 months for each one; taking my time. Otherwise it be completed in one month as it works up very quickly. ((smiles))
These look great, Hevinlee! You can tell you put a lot into them. :)
I think the Teddy in the Pocket blanket would be really cute as a pillow, too. Center the pocket with the Teddy in the middle of the pillow and crochet a solid side and slip a pillow form in between and seam them up.
Yes I do sell all that I make, so I'm pretty active most of the time! LOL! It's good therapy for me. It's a calm & soothing hobby and I would encourage everyone to give it a try, even if it's just a small square baby blanket (like I did) It's a great hobby and the rewards are even greater to see a baby wrapped in them! God bless!
