@Pelleman666 I think it's just called a major seven in english, but us swedes are stupid enough to call it septima, lol! Sept means seven in french, so I guess it has something to do with that : )
I know chances are you probably won't care for Megadeth, but if you check out the album Rust In Peace, their lead guitarist for the album (the one who done the more interesting, exotic solos, not the pentatonic stuff that Mustaine plays) plays some really nice stuff. A few of his solos have minor third bends. Primarily I can think of the first distorted solo in the song "Holy Wars... The Punishment Due", and in the Tornado Of Souls solo (during the third time the riff under the solo repeats).
I understand the usage, but I thought it might help it there were some strong examples to show a "newbie" how they would use the bend...as in bending up to the Dominant 7th tone in a blues expression...Here, you newbies, try this:
You are in "A" Blues - go to the 12th fret (E) on the high E String and bend it up to a "G" note (7th)..Ahhh...now you see! Do it a few more times just because it feels good! - Terrific statement with tension. ♪♫♪

Chuck Noris can do major 5th bends
benis15 3 years ago
I've got to get out my theory book and check out what a major fifth is.
andrewt248 3 years ago
Dude, what makes you think the theory book will know? It's Chuck Norris.
idshanks 3 years ago
I meant that a fifth is a (perfect) fifth. It's not major or minor; it's diminished or augmented. Nothing against my man Chuck.
andrewt248 3 years ago
I think that was the joke is what I mean :P Chuck Norris is so good he can even play a major fifth.

This is all good, but what you really needed to provide was a strong example of how the bend can be used in various riffs and licks.
