I love Jack Gibbons' playing; his performances are always so infectiously exuberant. He also really communicates the sly, fierce humour in Alkan's music. Tick!
I played this at my exam. It have a very special challenge with memorizing large jumps. The bas notes need to be taken with a karate hit rather than the tip of the finger. I wonder how many in the world ever played it? Its really fun to work with, but if you lack inner peace and patiency, you would probably commit suicide. Also the da-daaa can have so much sound!
