Hi, I echo your sentiments. I'm sending you a link to a Youtube video I shot and composed music for, on this very subject. It's a satirical look at capitalism and the erosion of culture as we know it! I made this film because it's frustrating trying to teach my three year old son right from wrong while reading of corporate greed and the like.

i keep hearing the occutards complain about corporate greed, but what exactly *IS* corporate greed, and who gets to define it? If a corporation profits, is that in and of itself "greed"? If a corporation passes on its profits to its employees in the form of raises, are the employees now "greedy" too? And what exactly do the occutards expect to do about greed - send out the greed police to arrest corporations? Occutards, how about some answers, please.

@starmanskye no one IS above the law...where is Bernie Madoff? In prison. What happened to Michael Milken? Prison. Same for Ivan Boesky and Jeff Skiling. Hell, they tossed Martha Stewart in prison over a bullshit charge, and it looks like George Soros is on his way to prison, too. There doesn't appear to be a problem of finding and convicting abusers of financial laws. Profits are the goal of EVERY business in a free society...sorry. Try not to cry. You can't get us to spend when you aren't even willing to hire.

It's a self-destructive practice. Beyond that there are added restrictions/fees that harm consumer happiness/confidence/trust, you take those away little by little, and people will soon begin to resent it.

It should never come to people using Twitter to express their disappointment in the policies you tell your employees to follow behind their back. When you don't put the customers first, YOU force them to adapt (less spending).

This is stupid. Yes we should fight coporatism, be we must do that by passing laws that prohibit the government giving corporations power in the first place. Capitalism by itself is not a bad thing. And greed is not human nature, survival is. Only assholes are greedy. Capitalism punishes assholes, corporatism rewards them.

One of our biggest customers had to go "green" so that big Corporations would give them business. They had to integrate recycling of everything (which is good) but also the whole lighting systems of their buildings and much, much more. Tons of money spent, just to "maybe" get their business. Smaller businesses don't have a chance. Every day you see more signs of Corporate control. What is scary, is how it's gaining speed. As more people get it, the more they'll dig in their heels.

i think there were americans who took on loans that they couldnt pay but there were also preditory lenders who advertised comercials that you could get a 110% loan for a home, set your payment at ohh lets say $400 (this is a real figure that they proposed) a month and save 2-3000 a year.what they failed to mention in these comercials is that these ajustable rates would eventually climb to 2-3000 a month. the responsibility goes both ways. if not, why arent they still giving these loans out??

We are all motivated by self interest. Sure there are some some excutives and high level managers involived in the financial industry that are greedy and committed crimes. They should be punished but they won't be. Should the greedy consumers of our nation who lived beyond their means be punished as well? They won't be. Excess cash from corporations & individuals reinvested into securities of corporations for projects/expansion, R&D, which creates jobs, improves living conditions through better products. What's optimum profitability? Infinite. Don't think so? Then consider conditions of 3rd-world nations lacking profitability: STARVATION! Does it follow that profitability a byproduct of greed? Perhaps, since an optimal metric can't be assigned to either.

Most people probably running Microsoft Windows or Apple Mac OS... Both of these are proprietary/non-free (as in freedom) operating systems.

I would seriously suggest people look into "free software" (free as in freedom) and "open source" software. Operating systems such as Debian, Ubuntu, GNewSense and a lot of others are perfect replacements for Microsoft Windows.

Hahaha! Do u really believe all that software is free? NOT! Per the textbook, suppliers who provide "free" (haha) products get paid by advertisers, et al. After all, suppliers of "free" software/products have supply chain costs, production costs, quality costs, logistics costs, employee costs & so on. I think you've got the wrong idea.

Most free software comes from individuals who enjoy coding. More recently some companies such as Sun have helped the free software movement by donating software (such as their Office suite), and developing their own free software, creating profit by providing paid "support".

Also, supply costs are often 0 thanks to the internet.

Google "Free software Foundation" and "free software".

It is free as in freedom, but at the same time it is often 0 cost, too.
