That is so sad. I live in Indiana and love horses. Saw he won 2008 derby here. Terrible loss. I feel for the fans, owners, breeders, trainers, esp the jockey. I hope he's o.k. thank you for letting me know of him.
Tin cup was one of a kind the type of horse that only comes along maybe once in a life time.. His brother don corleone won the ny derby before him and is standing stud just a few miles down the road from fingerlakes.I work the starting gate there and was there and with him in his final hour. there was alot of horsemen there and vets We all did everything in our power to help him just a freak thing. His family will live on threw the don and tin cups mother twice forbidden.
what is the song? So pretty! I am a big horse racing fan and truly admired this brave gelding . I saw all his Big Apple Triple races on replay shows and he always left it all on the track, taking the early lead as if to say "Come catch me if you dare but you better bring it!" Finger Lakes is the 1st race track I ever went to when I was 4 yearsold.
I was there the day he met his fate, It was the most heartbreaking thing to have to watch, I cried all the way home. I still cry , after that day I felt I had the worst job in the world, he was truly a legend to anyone who knew him.
Nice video. What a shame we lost such a game horse. He may not have been nationally known on the level of the really elite stakes horses, but he was the kind of horse who is good for the sport, the kind who always shows up and runs his race and looked like he was going to stick around for a long career. And what a pointless, freak accident. :(
I agree,he did always come-and he may not have been the best horse around but he always did what you asked of him and it's really awful we had to lose him so soon.
I understand. It was genuinely difficult for me to make a video for TCC's passing. I was so looking forward to seeing him race many more wonderful races and live a happy long life afterwards.
It's deeply saddening. Yet he will not be forgotten, and he left us with some great memories.
Poor Tinny. I miss him already. He was an extremely talented, very underrated racer. What an unfortunate accident. I bet his connections are devasted. :( RIP Tin :(

The song is Gravity-by Sara Barellies.
Tin Cup was one of kind,in everything he did.
I love Finger Lakes as well. It's a good little track-I really enjoy going there every summer. :)
Thanks for the view.

This, sadly, is a video I hoped I wouldn't have to see for many years, after TCC had retired and enjoyed a long and fruitful life.
Alas, it was not to be.
THANK YOU kindly for posting this fitting tribute to a really nifty, gutsy gelding.
