So, I got this game when I peered over my brother's shoulder, saw him fighting Saturos, and saw Plasma cast along with the music.

That was all it took. I partially got into Golden Sun because of Saturos~ Awesome piece, for sure.

Saturos is on another level of epic. He was (and still is) the only boss I've ever fought against in an RPG and had goosebumps while playing. Nowadays we have crappy bosses from Final Fantasy that are only hard because of health and cheap magic. This guy was hard because he was a balanced fighter who was much harder than previous enemies. That is the best kind of difficulty, because you cheer in relief upon defeating him rather than sigh in frustration because it took so long. GS1 for the win.

Ya, the Golden Sun world is literally dying because the lighthouses aren't lit. This has been proven when you visit Lemuria in Golden Sun Lost Age. The world itself has life of it's own, the lighthouses is like food to it. Many civilizations disappeared and people died for mysterious reasons because the world is crumbling away. And all of the lighthouses needs to be lit too to prevent the world from destroying itself, not just some. The elements needs to be balanced.

@Leetsnugglage Hmm...well things do play a bigger impact when they are things you've known ever since childhood or stuck with you for a long time. I do believe that if I just started suikoden right now I'd probably like it all the same. I don't know of any rpg that has held my attention as far as story goes because unlike the final fantasy series the suikoden series has a vast storyline that stretches across multiple games excluding Tierkris which just disappointed me...

@Leetsnugglage I would agree but thats only because Suikoden is more refined and expanded upon with its story. Its really got an excellent story that far exceeds most rpgs, if not all, but since I haven't played all I can't make a definitive answer. But Suikoden was one of my first rpgs and frankly that might be why I like it a lot but an avid rpg fan will have to admit that Suikoden is a must play if you love rpgs.

Definitely one of the best battle themes I've ever heard in a video game. Pity it's used only a couple of times, but I guess that makes it more epic when you do hear it. It's also one of the only reasons I actually enjoy fighting Star Magician in GS2, since I usually have a harder time beating him than even Dullahan (who's actually pretty easy with the Eclipse/Daedalus strategy).

And to think, I never would have played this if it weren't for the cool looking screenshot on my GBASP box...

I played GS, but never played through TLA because I stopped when I got Issac back. So this time around (six years later), I started GS over again a couple months since I still have the game...and named the group the best names possible:

MaBoi, Biff, 88mph and Mia.

Great in-game conversations, and they even have matching statistics.
