This is the most brilliant composition of a musical score I've ever heard!! It speak's to one's soul and transport's you to a place no one can enter. It's a beautiful score to a most beautifully sad movie. No matter how many times I've seen this great film, I cry shamelessly. It's my favorite film of all time!!

How in the name of all that is holy did this get beaten by freaking Gladiator for Best Picture in the oscars that year!? Russel Crowe is a monumental asshole and a mediocre actor at best, and the film was immediately forgettable to the point of being obnoxious! This one deserved to win by a landslide, Clarke Duncan deserved the best actor in a leading role too! I have watched Gladiator once, yet I watch The Green Mile often. Why? Because The Green Mile was superior in EVERY way.

A lot of people don't like how the bass is blown out on this song, and trust me I don't like blown out basses either, but I think it adds a more dramatic sound like a dark vs. light effect. This movie shoots shivers down my spine from the beauty of it.

It is because homer took the fall for a crime that his friend didn't take credit for, and was going to be executed, the guard said 'dead man walking on a green mile' then the music played, I thought of the most sad film I have ever seen to this day, The Green Mile.
