Any 1 that drives a ZO6 knows 50 km/h is right at the top of 1st gear, making it almost usless so drivers upshift to 2nd putting it on the bottom of 2nd. It's a horrible speed to start in a ZO6. Just take a look at every race w/ the ZO6 it gets pulled about a car, car and a half everytime. You can hear the bottom end pull when the camera is in the ZO6 in the F430 race. btw (ANDOE34) the M5 wouldn't have a shot in the dark from a dig W/ the right drivers. But the M5 does pull harder 150 +200
Well to be honest with u I didn't know the conversion from KPH to MPH & google miss informed me, that or I did something wrong. I thought it said 60MPH before. I just checked again & now it says 50KPH = about 31 MPH..oops..lol. Still though 30MPH in 1st gear in a ZO6 as seen in alot of these vids isn't practical with wheel spin, & then a shift to second often results in more wheel spin & time loss. PPL just opt for 2nd gear for a safe consistant run..but tushay on pickin up on my slip up.

You probably have no expirience with American cars. In reality, there is no big difference in cars with similar prices. In general, our cars are on par. in fact america built about 50 years heavy big cars with more than 5000 ccm to reach the power of european (especially german) engines with 2000-3000 ccm. well.. i saw the trackduell between the bmw z4 and the z06, ended with a draw. it shows that the z06 still has big downforce problems. the bmw m5 is a car made for long distances, for 5 persons and for a long durability. its made for a maximum of comfort. the z06 offers exactly the contrary.
You should look up the Nurburgring times for the Z4 and Z06. I have been on the track with both of those cars, and trust me, the Z06 is a far, far, superior track car. As for the M5 being for long distance and the Z06 not, you are absolutely correct.

as far as I know the C6Z did start with the 2nd gear which is geared till 140kmh hahaha
they started to race at 50km/h ... and the seconds gear goes to 140kmh
so the C6 Z06 started to race @ about 2000 rpm hahaha.

When I run with AC on I AVERAGE 26.5. With AC off, I AVERAGE 27 in mostly highway driving. It's low weight, low drag, high torque and high gearing. 80mph= 2000rpms in 6th. Even higher in the C6Z06. It's a FACT. GET OVER IT.

also the driver of this z06 in every race starts in 2nd gear at 30 mph (50 kph)... this is why the m5 jumps out in front. 1st gear in the vette tops 60mph.... if he had started in first it would have been even uglier
just watch more videos from m5board, youll see an in car video of the z06 racing a ferrari f430 in which he starts in 2nd. For some reason this driver always starts in second. Maybe he isnt good enough on the throttle to keep from spinning

You probably have no expirience with American cars. In reality, there is no big difference in cars with similar prices. In general, our cars are on par.
