Did anybody notice how much attention to detail Stunt Race FX had? There are so many things they could've not done and made it a simple racer, but instead it feels polished and crafted with love:
- The eyes BLINK! Not everyone will notice it but those who do will smile.
OMG, I've been trying to remember this game for awhile now. omg, I'm a girl who played this game, I'll admit. My dad got it for my sister and I as a kid, 90s on the super nintendo and it was soooo much fun! Thanks for uploading this! :D
This game should be remade on the 3DS with many more option/modes and youcan customise your vehicule ! but i don't want to generally want this game to be remade but Starfox too, both these games where the first 3D games on the SNES and should be reckognised
@DoUbLeH9 That would be a good idea, but the only problem is this- Shinobu Amayake, the music composer to this game does not work at Nintendo anymore, so therefore the remake is pretty much moot.
Mario Kart vehicles with Stunt Race FX like personalities and vehicle damage would be a sick game if Nintendo ever came out with it especially if it had some good multiplayer game modes stuff like tag, capture the flag, seek and destroy team & free for all, strikeout, king of the half pipe, and racing.
Sorry for the last comment being a bit too personal, I just needed to make sure people wouldn't respond to the comment with "Y TEH FUK DID U SEL IT?!?!" or "UR MOM IZ A *word I refuse to use about my mother*". Like I said, she's gotten over my game obsession and tolerates it just fine now.
On topic about the video: you're pretty good at this game. Better than I was, but then again I haven't played it in over 7 years. I'm better at racing games now than I used to be (mostly thanks to Mario Kart).
Man I loved this game as a kid. To this day I still regret selling it to GameStop. =(
Don't blame me, my mom kinda forced me into selling a small few SNES games a few years ago, but luckily the only other games were ones that I either hated, or edutainment titles that were of no more use (the old Mario learning games). I still kept all of my other good ones, and mom gave up on trying to make me sell more games. I love my mom, but years ago my game obsession used to annoy her. She's over it now.
My brother had a megadrive, i had a snes. You would never see graphics like this on a megadrive. I still remember the rubber like car handling. Games like this made me into the shit hot gamer i am today
When I first played it the PSone wasnt quite out yet. So for a brief space of time, it was the most high tech racing game on a home console. Still a lovely game. The only think that lets it down and dates it is the draw distance. I didnt notice it at the time though.
I wish I could complete master class on this game, but I can't even get past Big Ravine IIRC... anyone know if this class is completable in a coupé, BTW? I think my lack of ability to handle the racing car is part of the problem
I managed to do it in the 4WD, which I didn't actually think was possible until I replayed it a couple of weeks ago. If it can be done with 4WD, it can definitely be done with the coupé.
You can make it easier by pressing select at the car select screen, and then setting all the opponent cars to coupe. Then, use the coupe as well.
That's how I beat master class the first time. I didn't have too much of a problem controlling the race car, but that made little difference when the 4WD kept smashing me into pieces at some of the turns. By the time your car gets put back together, even if it's a straight sprint to the check point or finish line, there just isn't enough time.
Ah yes, Stunt Race FX. This was the very first game I got into as a child, and it still holds a very special part in my heart. This and Star Fox, Yoshi's Island, Doom & Vortex ruled the SNES with their Super FX chip capabilties. :D Now if only Nintendo had released Star Fox 2. :/
If you really want to be hardcore, race this track in the truck, you will be fighting the clock every second of the race! It sounds lame but it makes this hyped level even more thrilling
nice save at 2:30. this was a good game! i can't believe you did it with the 2WD, I did that with the Red Car but I only did it twice! damn, I need to find my SNES! lol
this game realy blew me away when i got it all those years back on its release, it suprises how nintendo have still not made a newer version on newer platforms.
dude your MUCH better than me with the 2wd, this was the first ever game ive seen and played, and im still playing it today, just beaten every class with the yellow car, also how do you keep awesome control of the 2wd?
It's hard to explain.. It's easy to lose control of the 2WD. If you turn left or right too hard when you're losing the control you will just start doing 180/360°.
Great run! This takes me waaay back. I was a huge Stunt Race FX player back in the day, and I give you props for your excellent control (especially with the brake). I noticed you got a bit shaken at the end, but you pulled through quite well... :-) I forget what my best Harbor City time was, but I'm sure you overshot it by quite a bit. Kudos!
One of the best games the SNES has... It was amazing back then and now that I watched this vid, I regret selling this game years ago to buy N64 games... It was hard to control at first, but one you got use to it, it was pure fun! Nice memories...
This game was amazing back then.. I remember how addicted I was! Especially when I found out you could drive in first person mode!! It actually shed some secs off the race time aswell, since the cpu wasn't slowed down by having to render the car. ;) Good times.
this game was a leap for game design. i remember playing this thinking to myself as a kid.. wow... 3d!!! and the music in this game was actually hot and not corny!
One of my all time fav games!!! I still play this on emulator to this day XD!!! Awesome post! Thanks!! ^_^;; Spent many hours playing this game as kid hahahaha
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
as the title suggests, this game perfectly match the limmitations of the superfx2 3d engine, wich resulted in ugly 3d graphics, poor control and boring music.

dude you have NO IDEA how GROUNDBREAKING this game was for the time! For one thing, it may be cheap polygonal 3D, but it was as bestly rendered for the time! The gameplay was also really fun, and all your "points"about the game make no sense WHATSOEVER!
Holy cow. I remember this! I LOVED this game! You're good, I must say. I don't remember beating this game as a kid. One of those games I nearly forgot forever...
Yeah, when I had this as a kid I was a cocky little brat, always thought I could handle F-Type. Then ran it on zsnes about a week ago and beat it in about 2 days.
This game was awesome back then, and it was one of only a few games on the SNES to use the SuperFX chip. My only complaint about it was that it was kind of hard to control, probably due to the low fps (must've been running at like 10fps or something)
Did anybody notice how much attention to detail Stunt Race FX had? There are so many things they could've not done and made it a simple racer, but instead it feels polished and crafted with love:
- The eyes BLINK! Not everyone will notice it but those who do will smile.
- Levels with state changes (night to day)
- Dynamic levels (cruise ship, airplane flying, animals crossing)
- Pause game quirky animation with interactive playback speed
- Boost, lives, damage, carry-over time
And much more.

@stuartgangsta Stun Race is a good game. But is for little kids.

If only Sega had not released the 32x and had taken advantage of the benefits of the svp chip. The story would be different. Damn sega!
