  • where was part 2 and 14, where did u get this documentary

  • Thank you so much for posting this! Gone With The Wind is the best movie ever made an no other movie will ever beat it. It was hard work, I don't even know how they survived through even half the film, but it was beyond worth it. Let the world never forget it's greatest man made masterpiece!!!

  • This movie not only makes me cry, but it makes me proud to be a southerner! And I know, that one day, THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN and kill of all them damned yankees!

I am gonna move to Atlanta one day, I'll make a Tara just like they had in the movie. If I ever have a girl, I'll name her after Scarlett O'Hara like I was, and I hope that she will pass it on to her daughter and so on.

  • one of the best movies of all time <3 FACT and vivien leigh is such a legend <3

  • Gone With The Wind is the epitome of a classic! It never gets old!

  • this is the most emotional making-of documentaries ever.

  • great docu - even though two parts are missing; thanks for posting

I find it odd though how little of Olivia deHavilland was mentioned!

  • Awesome!!! Very Well done!

  • WHERE THE HELL IS PART FOURTEEN????!!!!

  • @TheMrMarilyn Part 2 was missing too!

  • @buffycharmedangel102 Yeah...ah caught that!!Ah was so pissed of ah didn't bother adding anythin else,as ah would have started cursing the uploader out...an ah have more than enough 'dramas' goin down on a daily basis, that ah could live without...so ah juss let it go...saved the energy for somethin that is more important (to meh...of course)!!LOlol...ah MUSS be gettin 'old',as ah wouldn't have even bothered to analyse all that a few yrs ago lol!!Love Em,x (Marilyn)

  • wonderful!

  • Ahhhhh.... Golden Era Hollywood..... the era where stars were stars, with their exceptional talents, striking good looks, hard works, diligence, determination, and true glamour that sweeps us commoners off our feet.

An era which has long gone with the wind!

Today's Hollywood is not even the shadow of its former glory. Its stars today are more famous for their never-ending self-made troubles rather than their works! Bring back the Golden Era!!

  • Thanks for uploading this documentary. To be honest, i think this is far more than just a mere documentary, this is a historical drama just like the movie it self.

Oh btw, i hope you will upload part 2 & part 14, and until then: keep up the good job!! :)

  • Part 14 is "Gone With The Wind'' also.

  • Many, many thanks for posting this. I watched this all the way through - but parts 2 and 14 seem to be missing?

  • imagine going to an old movie theater back then and being a part of that audience who previewd the film. What a thrill!!!

  • ..........................per sempre

  • does anyone know where part 14 is???

  • yes they were right in saying that the music itself was a character in its own right. Thanks for posting this swell documentary.

  • This is a Master Piece...It never gonna happen again...good grief....

  • Why are you crying? the same reason I'm crying.. Just hearing the theme brings me to tears.. Gone with the wind IS that Freaking awesome!!

  • This is the first time I have watched " The Making Of Gone With The Wind. Stunning! Simply stunning! I would like to personally thank all those who took the time to put this great piece of artistry togerther. It was as much fin as watching the movie for the first time. Bravo! Bravo! Luciano

  • what a truly amazing classic...pass the kleenex please!!

  • awsomeee!!!!

hey did i hear right.. did vivien leigh leave her husband AND KID for laurence olivier?

  • Yes, it's true. She left her husband and 7-year-old daughter to be with Olivier and pursue her acting career.

I hate hearing about my fave celebs doing awful things (a mother leaving her husband and child is despicable), but I try to look at the bright side.

If she had stayed w/ her husband and child, she would never have been casted as Scarlett. Plus, her daughter Suzanne led a good life and wasn't bitter towards her mother at all.

Suzanne and Vivienne had a good relationship later on.

  • Thanks God, I´ve got GWTW on DVD. ;-)

  • A superb documentary. There will never be another Gone With the Wind......

  • Great documentary just like the movie:) five stars plus more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • wow, even the documentary on the movie was epic, lol

  • Loved this documentary -- it even made me teary-eyed from time to time; just like the movie..

Wonderful that when it was made, there were still some of the great people around who worked on/in this film (:

    Thanks again!!!

  • thank you for posting this

  • They blocked the stupid sound.

  • The greatest film of all time!

  • amazing, fantastic and i loved it!

  • Amo Gone with the Wind. Me hubiera gustado vivir en la epoca en que se estrenó u-u. Una joya literaria que nunca se volverá a repetir.

  • Wow,looking back, and seeing this.Gone With The Wind seems like a Grand Slam, the uncertainty, doubt and mystery ..... I mean all that huge work gave birth to the most, the greatest Motion Picture ever made.

Each actor performed the role that suited him or her, guess cant picture another Melanie, another Ashly or another Rhett or Scarlett.

I wont forget the soundtrack that personally I adore.

thank you VERY MUCH for posting.

  • thanks (again) djphantom.

this is probably only the second or third youtube video i have taken time to rate excellent or 5 stars.

  • ty for this loved it nearly as much as the film what a great film and book, read it when young because of the film and it might not be what some call great litriture (sic) but it knows how to get to the heart ty

  • Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • Thank you.

My heart twists and I involuntarily cry a sob every time I see the film's title flying across the screen, accompanied by the music.

Such a masterpiece - goodness, I'm sobbing over "The Making of Gone With The Wind"!

  • me too....glad I'm not the only one - get a lump in my throat every time!

  • me three haha its just its epicness astounds me every time! its amazing!

  • Gracias desde el fondo de mi corazón! Esta película ha marcado mi vida!

  • The music esp gets me every time and I've seen this movie well over one hundred times. Once a friend of mine and I drove for hours to see it at a drive in and we stayed for TWO shows.

All that's left of the original cast is Olivia De Havilland, and Evelyn Keyes.

  • Ok why am I crying over a "making of" documentary? Weird. Somehow watching this makes me love the movie even more...

  • @woodstock1330 Get some sex, lady. Idiot.

  • @webeffect Wow you're just kind of an ass, right?

  • I have been looking for a Making of Gone With the Wind documentry for ages! Thank you so much for posting!! It was very insightful and I enjoyed every minute of it!

  • even the making of makes me wet my handkerchief ...
