@wavepsychic I work as a researcher in the biodesign institute at a major U.S. research university. Just because i'm an employee there I don't take pride in my coworkers accomplishments. I'm happy for them, and congratulate them on the hard work and success, but if I had nothing to do with the project why should I take pride in it. I don't deserve it.

I think there was some confusion. Ther ewas no death threat. @kbinco It was the only that same 1% that profited off slavery? That's bullshit. Anybody and everybody involved in any step of the trade in cotton/textiles/tobacco etc. profited from it. Without slaves it would've cost the plantation owners more to grow there crops. That price increase would've been pushed down each step of the production line. Everybody involved in any aspect of these goods, from production to sales to the consumers benefited. The only ones that didn't' were the slaves.
