John Mackey has given me more money, more insurance, and an amazing amount growth than any union package I was ever dealt. I worked unions in two different industries(food and construction) and they are a joke. I grew up in a union household. Every single carpenter I know that is union is unemployed, and every general contractor I know is working. You can fight for unions all you want...but they are a sham and you are being duped.

Then, there are countries like Germany who have government/tax funds for health care and people pay a little share each month for an insurance of their choice. At least for Germany I can say that everyone is covered. It's the law. I don't know the details, but only people who make a certain amount per year have to get private insurance.

The problem is that Mackey is against ALL reform. It may be true that Whole Foods gives good benefits, but there are tons of companies out there that DON'T. Don't be an ass coming out against health care reform just because you feel your people are taken care of. The problem is that Mackey is against ALL reform. It may be true that Whole Foods gives good benefits, but there are tons of companies out there that DON'T. Don't be an ass coming out against health care reform just because you feel your people are taken care of. This is simply an example of protesters jumping the gun without following due diligence of getting the right info, but in truth, I think they are right to protest his anti-reform stance regardless.

I live in Europe and so we dont have a Whole Foods store here. I used to think Whole Foods was for dirty hippies. Now I really want them to open one here. These left-wingers are just insane. "Let's boycott the entire store just because their CEO said something we don't like." yeah... makes WONDERFUL sense. Since when is the store equal to just the CEO?? When is ANY store "just the CEO"? Don't they at least know the basics of companies?
