Thank you so much. Being able to discern between a real ghost and an impression has been an incredible experience. Certainly being able to quiet peoples minds and allow them to relax knowing that what they are experincing is only an impression, not a ghost. Giving folks peace of mind and that the impression will certainly not hurt them, but will just keep playing like a video on replay.
I've been following a paranormal investigation team in southern California and they explained the IR thermometer that LLoyd is using can only measure surface temperatures and nothing else. Also they state the natural trifield meter must be oriented north and south and cannot be movied around after it is turned on. So how is Lloyd measuring anything real if he is using the equipment he relies on incorrectly? Has anyone informed him of this?
Thanks for the comments. Remember, this is TV and neither Annette nor I typically have any say in the narration.
That said:
1) Yes, I am aware of the non-contact thermometer's limitations. That's why I rarely use one. When it is used, it is one measure of ambient temperature differential from the walls of a room (the other measure being a digital thermometer that can, in fact, measure air temperature).
2) The narration is partially incorrect about the TriField Natural meter. It does not have to be oriented north/south, but it DOES have to be stationary. It measures changes in low level natural fields. Moving it actually creates a change (think of moving your hand through water).
Of course we are "measuring anything real" -- environmental conditions (absolutely not measuring ghosts). But the point is to correlate this data with people's experiences.
There is a HUGE amount of bad information out there on the applicability of environmental sensors in "ghost hunting." Unfortunately, TV shows have done much of the spreading of bad info (the rest by folks who don't know any better and often don't even read the equipment's instructions).
IF TV producers would ever ask any of us to have input on the scripted narration and especially the editing (and use that input) things might change.
In the meantime, repeat afte me: It's only a TV show.
Hi Lloyd and thanks for responding. One question, when you are aiming it at the cell door were you measuring the iron bars or the block wall at the back of the cell itself?
And the trifield meter. I noticed you are carrying it and waving it about. My understanding of this device is that it must be oriented north and south with the top and bottom of the meter. How can what you are reading on that meter be valid? It seems I have been banned from commenting further.
Anette I just discovered you yesturday and since I have been truly moved. You are an amazing person.

I'm hoping US Government re-visit and restored this prison.

Hello,
Yes, there are area's that need some TLC. But it definately carries the aura of the past and that in itself is fascinating.
