Unfortunately, you can't go back in time and undo your mistakes. Using drugs again when you know the eventual negative outcome is not rational.
Yes, it can be done, but it takes a constant effort on the part of the addict. You aren't magically cured. For the most part, Scott has been successful at sobriety. People are too eager to kick him when he relapses instead of congratulating him when he gets back on track. Staying sober is not easy in the music business. He has been doing really well lately. Check out his new album and all the positive reports on his solo tour.

i just saw stp in atlanta tonight. scott was f'd up as usual, the band didn't even say goodbye, they just left. i have a bad feeling that not just this tour but the band's future is in severe jeopardy.
i saw s.t.p. on the first reunion show of the tour at rock on the range and i couldnt believe he was so strung out and out of it. i mean really the first show together in years and he was wasted and blowing it. now its every other show i hear.
STP is probably the greatest rock band from the 90s and they are all musical geniues look at the writing skills, the chemestry, everything they do is amazing every record is so differnt and experimental and lets look at the concerts over the years they sound fucking amazing so anyone that wants to talk shit cause one concert they dont obviously like STP give them a break its been awhile
i will be seeing them sunday, and i think ill enjoy them no matter wat, because until this summer id thought id never be able to see them live, but this is rediculus

I saw them play in Toronto last month, and not only did they take an extra hour to come onto stage, but he could not finish sentences, and spoke in phrases. We started wondering if they broke up, he o.d.'d, or whatever. But nope. I still enjoyed the show, just didn't expect much conversation from him! It's too bad, but to each their own I suppose.

I was at this show. Was it Scott's best performance?...no. Was it easy to understand anything he said in between songs?...absolutley not. Was it a great rock show with a great frontman who hit all the notes when he had to?....you bet your ass. If this was their "off" night then I really want to see them when they are on.
I can tell when Scott is high or just drunk. Look at the footage from Bizarre fest in 01 and house of blues the same year. See if u can tell the difference from this performance. On this footage he's obviously drunk ass hell, and in the Bizarre videos he's high as a house.
I feel for Scott because obviously he's self medicating for a reason. Even if fucked up he does still go on stage. He may not be top notch but what would be the difference if he had the fucking flu or something and he wasn't top notch? Maybe not the best performance all of the time but still worth seeing. When Scott tipped back into the kick drum, I thought "oh boy it's gonna be a long night". And it was. BRMC was cool though (except for the excessive strobe lights!!)...
Man I feel for ya, even when I saw Weiland with VR on thier first Australia Tour, it was pretty obvious he hadnt kicked the habit. And now this, with a great band like STP, and he is going to simply make it worse and worse as the tour goes on. VEry sad....
