If it was Germany's bunker it probably wasn't SS bunker. Wehrmacht and SS are different things. Wehrmacht fights for their country (because they are forced to) and SS executes and makes peopl suffer. That's the difference.
And at the time when nazis ruled Germany, not many people knew about these "executing people" operations carried out.
They supported their country, not nazis (SS).

if you call the german war office in berlin the will come for the remains. i watched a vid of a guy who worked for the german govment trying to recover the remains of german solders and doing DNA test to find there family so they can be put to rest. i think that someone is missing a loved one and you just found the person good work and keep looking!

@GodFatherCVI Just as a little balancing act, some 10 years ago a friend and I walked the woods around St. Vith in the Belgian Ardennes with metal detectors. We found an area about 100 square meters littered with American foxholes. We didn't even have to dig, we found bullets of just about every calibre, spent cartidges and live rounds, a severly decayed pineapple handgrenade, ammo boxes, lemonade powder packets, and all we had to do was scrape away about 2" of pine needles, amazing shit.
@GodFatherCVI Anyway, to my point. We found some bones, nowhere near a complete skeleton, no skull, but definitely human remains. Whilst there is an outside chance they could belong to a German, I'd say, given the amount of American equipment in the immdiate vicinity, and the fact that they'd obviously been dug in there, it was more likely American. We had a sword fight with two of the longest bones then threw them into the woods :-)

My dad got a metal detector, and we went digging around all over the place. We were lucky, we didn't get ourselves, blown up, or something. Which happened to a Sargent that demonstrated a metal detector at my grade school on the base. He dug up a buried bomb, and boom. They didn't find much of anything of him...

if you call the german war office in berlin the will come for the remains. i watched a vid of a guy who worked for the german govment trying to recover the remains of german solders and doing DNA test to find there family so they can be put to rest. i think that someone is missing a loved one and you just found the person good work and keep looking!

@GodFatherCVI Just as a little balancing act, some 10 years ago a friend and I walked the woods around St. Vith in the Belgian Ardennes with metal detectors. We found an area about 100 square meters littered with American foxholes. We didn't even have to dig, we found bullets of just about every calibre, spent cartidges and live rounds, a severly decayed pineapple handgrenade, ammo boxes, lemonade powder packets, and all we had to do was scrape away about 2" of pine needles, amazing shit.

@GodFatherCVI Anyway, to my point. We found some bones, nowhere near a complete skeleton, no skull, but definitely human remains. Whilst there is an outside chance they could belong to a German, I'd say, given the amount of American equipment in the immdiate vicinity, and the fact that they'd obviously been dug in there, it was more likely American. We had a sword fight with two of the longest bones then threw them into the woods :-)

@alanbukuk In the late '60's. I was living in Italy, and found all sorts of weird places. In Budoia, It. Near Aviano AFB. As a kid back then. My dad got a metal detector, and we went digging around all over the place. We were lucky, we didn't get ourselves, blown up, or something. Which happened to a Sargent that demonstrated a metal detector at my grade school on the base. He dug up a buried bomb, and boom. They didn't find much of anything of him...
