  • i fucked and came inside the ass of ross shafer. oh, by the way, i had AIDS at the time.

  • Ross Shafer went on to Host the 1990 Revival of Match Game.

  • The pilot to this show was called "M'ama non M'ama", and was hosted by Alex Trebek.

  • i was just watching this on tv today and found it interesting. :)

  • looks like they took parts of the old now you see it set for this show...

  • Marilyn Smith also did a kid's game show about animals that reran on Animal Planet. It was called Wild Guess.

  • God I LOVE me some 80's hair!

Back in the day when women would use a can of moose in their hair. LOL!

  • Or in my case.........a full bottle of jerry-curl activator! LOL

  • Can someone upload the 1985 Love Me Love Me Not pilot that was taped in the USA and featured announcing by Jackson Beck?

  • MGM/Sony owns this? This has yet to be rerun on GSN in the USA!

  • ... No

    I think WB owns it.

I do know it's recently been aired in Canada though.

  • @churlyryan I think the show premiered after Ted sold MGM back to Kirk Kerkorian

  • The announcer has a sexy voice LOL!

  • I met Ross Shafer once

  • The show was filmed in Vancouver and I believe airs Wednesday mornings on GameTV at 10am

  • Game TV (IGameTV.*com) now airs 'Just Like Mom', that use to air on YTV when the channel first launched in 1988, weekdays at Noon (Eastern). WOO-HOO!!! Fergie Oliver (host).

  • So, tell me... do you think Marilyn Smith EVER got that highly coveted Pontiac Fiero? BTW, WRONG-O that it was done in NYC's CBS studios. It was done at CKVU-TV13 Vancover's studios. It qualifies as Cancon because it was done by and for Global in Canada, also using Canadian guests.

  • @tristanunsworth the pilot was filmed in New York

  • When I submitted my top 50 game shows list to Matt Ottinger in 2006, THIS was the only love show that made my list. In fact, I ranked Love Me, Love Me Not at #31.

  • Ross Schafer was a pretty good host. He did a decent job when he hosted Match Game in 1990. It's a shame he didn't host much more than that. P.S. his cohost was HHHHHHHHHOT

  • I would actually like a copy of this episode, in case you're interested in tape trading. And this show was a hit in Italy, and I have a New York Times article referring to M'ama Non Mama.

  • The show reaired on Prime in 2000-01.

  • And it's now re-airing again, as a weekend entry on GameTV, along w/such other Canadian games as The Mad Dash, Love Handles, The Joke's On Us, and Supermarket Sweep.

  • The pilot in 1985 was done in NYC but for the series moved to Canada.

  • It was done at CBS in NYC.

  • Circa 1987, when USA had all their good games airing during the day. I believe this was a Canadian production, much like Jackpot.

  • Speaking of Jackpot, I do also have an episode of the USA version. Same tape even. I plan on uploading the intro but I'm too lazy :p

  • Which I have done :)

    Check my profile page.

  • It was indeed, hence the presence of an on-camera hostess to fulfill those CanCon laws (Shafer is American).

  • Just like on the USA version of Chain Reaction when Geoff Edwards replaced Blake Emmons; that's why they put announcer Rod Charlebois an on camera role.

  • Ditto with Wink Martindale when he hosted "The Last Word" in the 1990s. Jim Perry (also a U.S.-born host), did not require a co-host because he had ties to Canada through his family.

  • Speaking of 'the last word', according to my iTV guide, it's gonna be on GameTV in Canada soon

  • And game show fans will of course recognize Ross Shafer from MG90...

  • And comedy fans in Seattle will remember him from Almost Live!, and those episodes with him have not been aired or reran since the 80's.

  • Just one correction, this show actually aired on the USA network...

  • So it WAS a USA Original. I had at first suspected NBC for some reason. Thanks for pointing out the mistake :)

  • The main game wasn't much, but I liked the bonus round.

  • The first Italian format to have made it across the ocean. And it wasn't too popular in Italy to begin with :|

  • I can see why, it seemed so lame.

  • It was a huge hit in Italy, and there was even a version in the UK.

  • it was a hit because Wheel of Fortune aired right after it
