very interesting work------i have heard it said that just intonation provides for more tones than our "standard" 12 tone equal temperament scale. You certainly hear a lot of unfamiliar musical tones in this work but never does the overall work offend the ear, as certain avant garde or serial pieces can. With this work Johnston makes an interesting case for harmony using micro tones.
