Grunt :o) He he heee yeah I agree. As per previous comments, the ground was hard and I was certain it's all current coins so I had no problems with 'stabbing' it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@SuperSnoopy36 I was trying to be rude but it made me cringe just thinking that maybe it might have been an old coin or something...nice video though buddy.
To be honest I don't know as I haven't tried. The Xterra 705 has a special prospecting mode that is designed for gold nuggets. I air tested a 1gram gold nugget that was given to me and in prospecting mode it could detect it at around 6 inches.
@scottclements78 yes its very good! if u want to save some money dont get the 705 get the 70 theres not much deff , u get a back light i more patten and i was told by the guy at the miners din that its just a way for minelab to grab more money.
Thanks Tassyhunter. To answer your question, if I went for a hunt, drove for a while and realise that I left my propointer, I would turn around and go back to get it. It cuts target retrieval time so much! I'd consider getting a second one as a back-up!
Ha ha ha - yeah I stab it hard coz I know it's just everyday coins :o) The X-terra is worth every cent! It has paid for itself in less than 12 months and I only go out maybe once or twice a week.
Thanks rhayward. I do dig sod plugs when I believe that the target is an 'important' coin. The Xterra gives off solid target IDs for our decimal currency here so I am confident with my accuracy in determining what is under the coil. I don't mind scratching our decimal (current) currency :) You can see in Part 2 of this hunt that I dug a plug for both the bullet and the pre-decimal coin (halfpenny). Thanks for watching!

Reminds me of basic instinct the way you handle that grass. Interesting method though.
So is the minelab xterra 705 worth the money?

You should learn to dig a sod plug. That screw driver is going to ruin a coin in VG condition... just a suggestion!!

@WeirdParkGuy
It's the elliptical HF DD Coil (5x10 i think?). In my opinion it is way better than the standard coil the MD came with.
