saharacloud2 I have been three times when I had an american passport and three without and Glowa I hate to tell you I didn't follow the guides everywhere and they don't shoot you they just get a little annoyed unless your nice and give them gifts (cigarettes chocolate etc) then they don't really care

Yeah. As an organised trip with a guid who won't let you make a step without premission. If you will, you'll be expelled or maybe even shot. They will take you to the places they want you to see, where everything seems to be quit fine (big cities, museums etc), but they will never show you the country side where slavery and bad treatment is common, they won't let you talk to the locals.

Moreover - by taking this trip you support the governement, because it costs a lot for each day of stay (can't just travel budget - have to pay whole fee they request and it's over 100USD per day) and believe me - your guide, your driver, your security guard, and hotel owner won't get more than 10% of the amount you payed. A friend of mine been there, but i don't feel desire to give Kim any money.

There is actually a road, but no railway.

Good question about why there is a road there though. If a road wasn't there, it would be weird wouldnt it? People like to take tours to North Korea

haha, I went to Korea to see my relatives. I also went on a tour near the border.

It is relatively quiet at the border. Some people even take tours to North Korea
