Yeah he's wrong. Always find the ball first then toss your helmet. you can and I've seen catchers trip over there helmets.

@Cdubbs292 I agree with ya, I teach the same way. Remove helmet, find ball, toss helmet away from area of play

i was always tought to find the ball then take the mask off but every thing else sounds rite. (not saying your wrong just saying thats how i was tought)
