Hello all, I was brought up in EGER (in capital). This was real, guys. For 18 years, I have passed the minaret and the castle every day going to school. The book of "Stars of Eger" was my favorite, probably I had read it about 25 times! The turks had stared the siege with 30.000 thousand soldiers, at the end of summer, many of them not equiped for fighting in autumn or winter as the siege lasted a few weeks into the autumn.

i visited this summer all historical places at hungary, they have exagerated the situation...as if turks would be the devils and monsters...why doesn't ask or think anybody what happened to hungary after the turks retreated and the Austriand invaded hungary??? They systematically asimilated the hungarians for centuries... Hello all, I was brought up in EGER (in capital). This was real, guys. For 18 years, I have passed the minaret and the castle every day going to school. The book of "Stars of Eger" was my favorite, probably I had read it about 25 times! And watched the movie 10x (the world class actors are not anymore with us) and the fantastic music gives me goose bumps every time I listen to. This is a complex condensation of history, art, beauty, memorial, respect, and identity. Bless you all from the US.

I am an Romanian and if you want, I can give you free lessons about the battles that Ottoman Empire had lost. I studied History at the University, so I'm not joking. :))

Remember, that in your great history, Romanians have liberated your country from natzi's and your greatest king, Mathias Rex, was romanian also. Many other nations participated to your history,although you not recognize them,because you were not alone in this Universe, after you Huns settled down in Pannonia.

I don't think so! :) Only the poorest villagers were romanian.... You are true, Mathias was born in Kolozsvár, but it was in Hungary....THERE WEREN'T ANY ROMANIAN NOBILIS IN HUNGARY! @Farkas4444, I recognize that the fortress was not conquered untill many years later,but the turks not lost the siege also; they widraw as it was more important to conquer Buda as to fight with a few thousands of low importance soldiers. The turks had stared the siege with 30.000 thousand soldiers, at the end of summer, many of them not equiped for fighting in autumn or winter as the siege lasted a few weeks into the autumn.

Romanians (in that time Vlaches, but I don't know for sure) helped a lot for Hungary against the Turks (The battle of Kenyérmező). We, eastern nations, must draw our swords together. I don't know you think this way, but I tell you anyway: If you hate us, Hungarians after all, don't do. The great nations know, we passed through a hard history, so if we are allied, we means threat.
