@DamienZshadow. It doesn't store any energy. The energy is coming continuously from slowing down the motion of the air relative to the ground. When the cart reaches its top speed, it will stay at that speed indefinitely (assuming that the wind keeps blowing at the same rate). In this respect it's no different from a land yacht. There are many detailed discussions of how it works on various Internet forums.
That's amazing, I wish he went into detail about how it did such a thing. Does it store the energy over time and release it in burst?
