The best time to listen to this album is after there is a big snow storm and everything in sight is covered in snow and its a beautiful scene around you. Get in your car and listen to full cd. drive around and look at the beautiful scenery around you with this beautiful record. Particularly Aurora, Headwires, Next Year, M.I.A and Aint It The Life. They blend perfectly together and its something special that you will never forget
I bought this album when I was 14 years old, it was one of my first purchases. I bought it for the hits I'd heard on the radio but as time wore on I gravitated toward Generator, Ain't it the Life and Aurora. I used to turn on my CD player, put on headphones and play this song in the dark, daydreaming to the crescendo. Aurora will always be my favorite Foo Fighters song.
FF is the best still!!!! i grew up in the early 80s and start listening to FF since i was way younger... for those who are in line with the generation that i was bred in... this is the song that reminds us of our teenage glories!!!!! Gen X rocks!!!!!
this album came out when i was a freshman in high school and that year i went to my first real concert- the foo fighters and red hot chili peppers (went to see the foos mainly) and this was one of my favorites...haven't heard it in a while..beautiful
Ultra Talented in all four corners........ an awsome sense of melody without ever being cheesy....!!.. Bands like this get overlooked, kind of....."Not edgy enough"...!!!!! but bands like this dont come along that often..!!!
This album and Ghosts I-IV by Nine Inch Nails are the only ones I can listen to with nothing else, just sitting in a dark room, and have a pure emotional experience unlike any other I've ever had. I do it every week.
I remember being a little kid and first hearing this song. Its what got me into them more then I had already been and its funny cuz this song isnt really known by almost anyone I know. I get a nastalgic feeling hearing this and remembering all the better times Ive had hearing this song surrounded by friends or just anyone I care about Foo Fighters are one of the best in my book
lol the other day, my freind said to me "hey, do you remember that foo song "aurora"?". i replied with "Heeeeelllll yeeaaaah i remember auroraaaa!!!" lol absolutely beutiful song
One of my favorite songs at the moment :) Really love Dave's work in all his projects. Scream, Nirvana, Foo, TCV :) He is really one of the greatest modern rock musicians!
I was going through some old cds and found this album. I forgot how good it was! Been playing it for the last week. Definately one of my favourate foo fighters songs.love it!!
Found this in a random google search. Wanted to know if anyone had a song called aurora. I saw the lyrics and just had to listen. I love Everlong to pieces and now this. I want to get married to a foo fighters' song, it's settled.
I don't bother trying to figure out what the meanings are behind songs because it's dave who writes the lyrics and so only he knows what they are. they could be a blend of meanings. and people who listen to them get their own interpretations on what he's trying to say. I just listen to them because i find the songs sound cool.
Totally love this song to peices it brings a tear to my eye nothing can describe the feeling it can give you. I think if I ever have a little girl i'd love to call her Aurora.
@irishroverX Dave actually wrote this song about the street he lived on with Kurt. When they lived together, they lived in an apartment on Aurora st. So it does relate to Kurt in a way.
actually you're wrong there. Only 1, yes 1, Foo Fighter song is about Kurt Cobain, and that's "Friend of a Friend"
This song is both: A) a love song and B) about nostalgia, because Dave Grohl used to live on a street called Aurora. Some people think its about the good times he had there. Personally, this song is definitely in the top 10 and to tell the truth, It relates to my life right now in so many ways
lol they really don't he talks about it in an interview, he sites Friend of a Friend about Kurt but when on saying "I'm 40! I've had other people die in my life!"
dude fucking agreed haha just dave grohl has more talent than all of seether put together i dont see any of the dudes from seether playing in a band with John Paul Jones! need i say more?

My favorite son by them. When they came to Pittsburgh, the last song they played they said "this is for our real fans that have been us from the beginning" and they played THIS SONG....i had a heart attack. it was the best!
I think this is their best song and epitomizes their sound as a band. In additon I think this is by far the Foo Fighters best album and I never cease to find something new and spectacular about it each timeI listen to it.........
"i just kinda died for you, you just kinda started right through" love that line. reminds me of the girl ive had a crush on for about 4 years now, she knows i like her, but just wants to be my freinds. lol and kinda ignores the romanitc stuff i do for her. hehehe i kinda make it a game now inside joke between us
Um, no, they aren't in it just for the money. Why? Because their first album was just as popular as their latest and sold just as much. They didn't need to change a thing to make money. They changed because they became more skilled and also artists like to try new things.
I'm pretty sure that's not right. The Foo Fighters are more popular now than they've ever been, and are certainly selling more records than they did in '95. I would say part of their change has come from becoming more adept musicians, but the other part is from a lack of creative originality that plagues most bands that last as long as they have.
Así es no eres el único en escribir en español, Foo Fighters es mi banda favorita, y estoy totalmente de acuerdo respecto a las bandas de hoy, a mi en lo personal me gusta más la música Noventera creo que ha sido una de las mejores décadas para la música
