  • musicals that have a real meaning and this was one does. i hope it starts in my city!

  • I saw this great production in Sydney. I was disappointed it did not run longer.

  • why do people think that stagin a musical about thousands of people dying is a good idea, this is sick...................

  • @byford1978 because unlike standard musicals, Titanic actually makes you experience deep, powerful emotions, just like many tragic plays do. Same with Les Mis - musicals with substance like these two (among others) are more powerful than normal musicals, and tend to actually have amazing music (difficult, too) and acting that is above typical musicals that are just fake, happy people. More serious musicals have better characters and better stories, and basically all have won best musical tonys

  • i sthat Hugh Panaro?

  • If the Australian Musical Theatre scene isn't made up of shows that are "story driven" or "music driven"... then what on Earth are they?

  • Can y ou say "The Simpson's"?

  • Anyone know the cast list for this poduction. I recieved a proshot DVD of it the other week and it was apparently from a TV recording. But theres no cast list. And i would like to know who pleayed certain roles.

  • Our school is doing this show and our Barrett is a lot better looking than that one. (the guy in the white shirt)

  • But can he act as well ? Portraying the cold of that night by hardening his nipples (0:19)?

  • wait a sec. As I remember on Broadway, the whole stage tilted as the ship sank. How can you guys do that at your school?

  • Our theater has a brand new stage that can raise and has trapdoorsand such.

  • my school is doing the show, and we have a large platform that tilts

  • The guy in the white shirt at 0:20 has stiff niples!!!!!!!!! :) lol

  • lol You're right. It's said that if you really concentrate when you're singing it's a reaction that naturally happens due to your efforts. It makes sense. ROLFMBO

  • When I 1st saw this video for the production,I thought the same thing.God bless him-he can wear the snug shirt well.

  • I would not go see this and I love Broadway too

  • that's a shame because it really is a beautiful show with an amazing and moving score.

  • i might would go see it idk i love brodway

  • I think it's amazingly written. I would love to see it live. It's a hard show to act as most the actors are playing real people. And the songs have to fit with the whole idea. As it's a true story.

  • it is IDK lol

  • Oh thats helpful hehe

  • gr8

  • It's not really a strange idea for a musical.

There's loads of musicals based on tragedies Les Miserables isn't exactly happy for instance.

  • omg i hate opra

  • *whispers*

    pssssst.... Its a musical... ;)

  • you are wierd opra is wonderiful

  • do they take the story from the film?

  • no, it follows the true story of what happened on the ship.

  • i did a production of this show it was done by kids ages7-18 it was an amazing production we did 12 shows and it was a wonderful production

  • bit of a strange idea for a musical isn't it?

  • My school is doing a production of this presently. Even though we're only a high school, it really is beautifully done. We have some talented people playing really powerful roles. It's a week until show time, but what I've seen, it's really great.

  • Great show, i am playing barret in my show of titanic

  • Saw this on broadway back 10 years ago during the previews. Absolutely fantastic -- more so than anything else I saw then: Victor Victoria with Julie Andrews, Rent (hyped up & truly dreadful), Sunset with Elaine Paige. This show deserves to be seen by more people but then everyone just want a different type of musical show today-- shame.

  • Not in my town!!! We did a this musical with my local group, including some professionals, and it was a major hit. Booked out every night, that was for 10 performances. They really loved the classic story of titanic put to music!!!

  • I love this musical

  • PODRE PODRE PODRE

  • Oh, I love this song! I may be in this for my high school's fall musical. I can't wait to see who's playing Fred Barrett.

  • OMG DO YOU GO TO O'HARA?!?!?!

  • I played Jack Thayer on the Liverpool Empire in Liverpool, UK. This is a fabulous musical. I love it.

  • My highschool was the first school to do Titanic the Musical when the rights came out. They didn't do their best performance, but I'm in love with it anyway.

  • Sorry to wet the paper for you, but there seem to have been several schools in the country who believe they were the first to do this musical. My high school in Indiana did it in the spring of 2000, then I moved to Florida to go to college and found out that another high school down here was about to perform it, and were advertising that they were the first.

  • Might have to do with having permission or not. In Holland, my group is the first that has a permission. Playing wothout the permission can cost you a big fine.

  • Supposedly, my high school in Indiana was the first to perform The Will Rogers Follies and Miss Saigon, but a week before we performed Miss Saigon, a school in Pennsylvania performed it.

  • I was lucky enough to have seen Titanic, the musical, not once, but twice on Broadway, with Michael Ceveris in the role of Thomas Andrews. In one word, sensational! The cast soundtrack is wonderful, but it helps if you have seen the play. I only hope it comes back someday. don't miss it next time around.
