This makes perfect sense I am a windows and a Linux user and i can honestly say that Linux can bring life to an old computer. I "fixed" my uncles laptop a few days ago by putting Ubuntu 10.04 on it . The only issue was teaching him the only two things he wanted to know about Ubuntu. That was how do I type a paper ( open office) and how do i browse the web ( Firefox) after that he just caught onto Ubuntu quickly
Edubuntu should be in schools. You can slash cost by over 100% just reusing old computers. I'm drafting a letter to send in to my school reccomend this. Especially because I talk to the teachers and how we are always running out of money.
If you run OO.o on your computers, then do you set the default saving format to .doc? I would imagine having the default .odt could be problematic to the layperson...
Edubuntu and Linux solutions should really be propagated more. Last week, I was in a conference with the headmistress of a primary school who complained that she only had old computers and no money for educational software, but was told to offer computer education.
I told her about Edubuntu and she was really grateful, because she'd never heard of it. As soon as 8.10 is out, I'll get back to her.
@rocknrollyeah Totally agree. Looks to be a helpful video. I never understand why people feel the need to add music to videos like this. If I want music, I'll find it.

everything is right on, but you need to fade out your background music, its very distracting.

Fantastic information - the volume levels of the music gets in the way of the presentation, however.
