@falconstrap because he didnt pull the slide all the way back and then release it like you should. not the gun's fault, and shouldnt have even been mentioned.
Im trying to help my wife pick her first carry gun and its sooo hard. I want her to have something really reliable and functional, but she has to like it enough to practice. right now its lookin like the 709 slim, but my wife has issuea with operating the slide which really make us want to get her a revolver but she doesnt like the long DA pull. I wish we could get a revolver with a saftey and a trigger like my glock.
@saturateu At least they've come up with a way to ensure micro pistol reliability. All of the other companies just give you a micro pistol that may work out of the box something like 50% of the time. I've tried to explain time and time again that micro pistols need to be MORE expensive than standard pistols, not less, in order to be reliable weapons. They need to have better build quality and higher end materials. The $300 pocket guns are complete garbage for the most part because of that.
I bet this will shock you! No one has ever been hurt from my DANGEROUS activities! But boy oh boy arnt I lucky. Gunwebsites is lucky too. With that kinda of danger in his video someone was sure to be shot.
We got a safety Sally here. Worrying that gunwebsites might shoot himself or someone else. Guess what Sally! I've dry fired, practiced speed reloads with live ammo a couple feet from me. I also draw sometimes with live mags in my gun.
@BHarris25 For one, you could NOT buy an LC9, PM9 and PF9 for $1000. Secondly, the only one out of that list with decent build quality is the PM9 and its price is up there if you get one with any options at all. Third, and most importantly, these micro pistols need to be built better in order to achieve Glock level reliability. I'm still waiting for manufacturers to realize this. Unfortunately, the market demands cheap guns that only work half the time.
@The4thaggie I'd also like to point out that he made it clear that it wasn't his gun. He likely took the gun from his friend, removed the magazine and the chambered round, showed us the gun, then re-inserted the magazine, chambered a round and handed it back to his friend. This is how it works when you hand someone your carry piece to show. I don't really see the problem there. Is his friend not allowed to carry a loaded weapon in your opinion? LOL.
@mindsmirror I'm probably just a stickler for gun safety. The idea of loading a firearm whilst showing it off is a bit on edge. Personally, I grew up around the idea that any gun passed between people should have the slide locked back and barrel down. It's not hard or out of the question to have the friend rack his slide if he so chooses.
@The4thaggie I see your point and it is valid. At the same time, he's showing it to a camera and not a bunch of people next to him. I understand your point, my point is just that we don't really have enough information to conclude anything one way or the other and it's entirely possible that this wasn't an unsafe act. In fact, this may actually be the host's carry piece. I've shown things on my channel before that I didn't wish to state were mine, despite the fact that they were.
It is true that each one of these is hand-built? A dealer told me that if you need a part, you have to send the gun back to the manufacturer because some parts are not interchangeable even between the same model.
bullet in chamber, and not seeing it fall out me do a doubletake, but your vids have always showed a great concern for this in the past so not a big deal, maybe its just me. Thanks for the post.
Thanks for taking the time to reply, for what its worth GunWebsites is IMO the most "safety conscious" firearms channel on YT, bar none.
For a novice, if one encounters an obviously loaded chamber, as opposed to an obviously (after safety checking once) unloaded chamber, would you feel any need to clear the cartridge and then re-confirm the empty chamber, say by racking the slide again, or is the cartridge landing outside the firearm confirmation enough?
@windflags these have been around a long time and well before Kel-Tec PF9 types. I don't think they ever intended it to be a hi sales gun it has a specific function and are collectable. I would not buy one but I remember back in the day this was the best micro 9mm.
These are nice look guns. But have horrible reliability. I have seen so man of these come back to the shop that I took one too the range to see for myself. Horrible. Poor Guy or gal pissed that they just spent 4-6 hundred dollars and it hangs up. Not to mention the 380's are like 800 bucks what a rip. It is solely marketing. Sleek stylish pistol that is a piece of crap for people who got money to waste and don't care. All this just IMHO.

That is one tiny little 9, don't think I could drop over a grand on one though. For that price I could buy one of each, LC9, PF9, PM9 lol

Is it really necessary to have live rounds in a demonstration? If you need to show chambering, use a snapcap.
The4thaggie 11 months ago
@The4thaggie Hah, it is obviously a carry piece. I carry guns around all day, EVERY SINGLE DAY, with live ammunition in the chamber.
