Being on the cutting edge is not always the best thing. You are the guinea pig doing the beta testing to see what the drawbacks are. Internet searches could easily degenerate into game addiction, for instance. Setting laptops or tablets on your lap for long time, especially if you are a child, could negatively affect your reproductive system. And I am sure there are other drawbacks as well as advantages.
