This was a good video. I am pro-choice, but wouldn't make the decision to abort myself. While on this earth, people should be able to do as they wish, but I know a cell doesn't have consciousness. Really, if you are going of when a person is capable of thinking for them self, the age is 7. This is also why I disapprove of religious homeschooling as well. You cant prove the existence of a soul, or God, or angels. So why bother trying to push your belief (which is well within your right to have)?
What kind of freedom is there in a choice of whether to allow a life to live or to allow a life to die? I cannot imagine that any woman who has undergone an abortion truly feels "free" afterward. Yes, she made a "choice" but at what cost - the cost of a life and I am sorry to say but the cost of her true freedom because freedom is NOT found in doing whatever I want, when I want and how I want -this is in fact called selfishness.
Great comment, very intelligently worded also. THUMBS UP! :D it is a sacrefice, but Even it is a freedom. Cells like that do die every day. 50% of fertilized egg cells die nearly instantly right inside the womb, so arguably women are killing all the time.
What about the mother's rights to life? Should we just decide that a woman has no rights because she's pregnant? When do we say that 'existence' begins? When they're slurping around in mummy's tummy, or when they actually open up and suck in a great gust of air? Saying no to 48 doesn't mean that you don't value every life- it means that you DO value free will, a human right, and something GOD GIVEN. He let Eve eat that fruit, remember? People should get to choose...
On another note: if you force someone to do 'the right thing', is that really them doing the right thing, or them fearing doing something considered wrong? Forcing women to go to term is like holding a gun to thier temples and threatening to pull the trigger if they don't say Amen.
It's the conseuqences, the possible reults, that are offensive. If I get preggers, and I want an abortion, I want it, and no governing body will stop me, no Ammendment 48. And when you throw that CATHOLIC wrench in the machine, it makes it all the worse.
As to free will having limits- only what we ourselves define them as. I am a free person. I follow my own moral rules, my own thoughts, make my own decisions based upon ME. MY LIFE. I deserve to get to do that. Government Authority because of 48 would say, no, not really.
I value every life. I myself, personally, would never get an abortion. But I would want the right to choose, the chance to do something of my own volition. I want it for me, and for every other human being.
An unborn child... is a living eprson, yes, but-
Evolutionarily speaking, the woman's life is more 'valuable'- a child can't reproduce. An adult woman has thousands of eggs, and can always get pregnant. A child takes up more resources, and doesn't start returning them until it matures...
sorry, I accidentally thumbs downed this... I wanted to thumbs it up. I will say you are correct. If you get an abortion, it's you who deals with it. I'm not a fan of religious branding either...
@Toadyfroglips29 I'm not "Pro-Abortion"... people like you are getting me there though. What's the point in the human race living on if people like you are who we have to show for it?
@DavidH373 Maybe you need to grow up and quit analyzing people. Don't contact me. People like me shouldn't make up your mind for you. Stop the blame game and take responsibility.
If all of the pro-life Catholics in America would vote for a non-pro-abortion candidate for president like Alan Keyes/Brian Rohrbaugh, instead of a pro-abortion candidate like John McCain/Sarah Palin, we could end leagalized abortion in America a lot sooner.
Of course the catholic church is going to push this issue.
This amendment can define any method of birth control that prevents a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine wall as murder, thereby making it illegal.
And last time I checked, the catholic church was against all kinds of birth control.
So then why are there plenty of catholic churches that are against this amendment? You don't think that pastors have wives that they like to have relations with without having to risk pregnancy everytime? Or do the churches also belief that a woman's place is in the home, on her back, popping out babies?
Even if a woman's place is in the home. A grown woman and the baby inside her can't both have separate human rights. One person has to be the legal default.
Right now the main legal person in a pregnancy is the mother. This will change it to the fetus.
If you think women are chattel and don't deserve their full human rights during pregnancy, vote yes.;)
Great clips of Roe vs. Wade dialog. Pushing the Catholic angel however may alienate non catholics to seeing the inherent right to life that all persons have wherever they may reside and at whatever stage of life they are at. Good video nevertheless. Thanks for sharing.

Saying YES to 48 means you value the mother and the child equally. Why is that so offensive?
P.S. The fifth commandment does not say thou shall not kill, unless thou feels like exercising your free will. Free will has it's limits you know.

Good points here, these evangelicals wont agree, but I do. That is exactly why I'm pro-choice.

@DavidH373 call yourself what you really are. Pro-abortion. There is no sugar coating it. You support the right to kill an unborn human.

P.S. The Catholic church doesn't have "pastors" or pastor's wives. The clergy doesn't marry at all.

This is ridiculous.

It doesn't take a Catholic to recognize that a baby in the womb is a human person.
However, since Catholic teaching is the only one to say that all abortion is wrong, it makes sense to make a video speaking directly to Catholics.
Great video and keep up the great work!
