i dont think we will meet again! but i do pray we do the feeling of her head laying on my chest was the best i will never forget she truly is a very very good person i miss her evert day and it hurts more every day but thankyou! her name is shannon littel /rathbone we was going to get married i dont understand!!!
Of the Canadian singers that are in the biz today, I think Shania Twain comes the closest to the excellence that Anne Murray came to. I hope Canada keeps them coming; As long as they're like this.
this was shannon littel wedding song! but it did not happen i dont know why she is my true love shannon if you ever read this please call i miss you so so much! when you made me leave i lost you my daughter and my mother just passed away 2 weaks ago i lost everything when i lost you what ever i did i am sorry kimmy done my mothers hair when she passed away she asked about you !! I thought love always wins i was wrong ;ps i love and miss you my number is still the same 618-447-5557
My loving husband and I were going to renew our vows this year. He would sing the first verse and I the second. But, my dear husband, lover, and best friend passed away. I LOVE YOU BABY!!!!!
I love this. I'm 78 and my husband didn't have to go out We'd put a record on and dance. He died in 1988 and I still miss him and our dancing together.
This song reminds me of my husband and me. We had the dance to the end of our lives. This has always been a song to remind me of him.And yes she should be in the hall of fame.............
This song always makes me think of Jim, my husband of 42 years. He died in September 2010. He took me dancing on New Years 1967 and we always were a perfect fit on the dance floor. He even danced after he was in a wheelchair. Thankyou for posting.
This song is so beautiful. It fits our life perfectly. My husband and I fell in love when we first danced. We have been married for 39 years and we are still dancing together.
One of the first dances with my husband was to this song...before he was my husband. We'll be married 30 years this coming January 8th, danced to it that night 30 years ago and every anniversary since. Never fails to remind me of that very first dance!
i fell in love with my husband the very first time we heard this song. i knew that i loved him even before he told me that he loved me! this was our wedding song!!! and i played it at his funeral as i wanted him to know just how much i loved him and still do!!! I will always love and miss him always! May he rest in peace!!!!
This is my 36 yo dtr. and my song..She use to go dancing with me at Eddie's Ballroom in manvel texas stand on my boots and we would dance to this song...I Love you Baby
This song and You Neede Me by Anne Murray are the tow songs I hope to play at my Wedding. Butn all of her songs are out this world Keep it up Ms Murray
This was our Wedding song. After 40 years I lost my husband April 2011. I wish we could still dance to this song. It was for us. We were finally married in 1982 and this song was us. I play this everyday. It makes me cry but it was us. I love him so very much, and would do it all over again. leonard1933ful
As someone whose taste in music is eclectic and certainly not very country, I have always loved this song. Anne Murray is some singer, well she is Canadian. I'm not Canadian but I have alweays been blessed by Canadian singers especially Guess Who!
i attended a wedding way back when...cant even remember the year, but it HAD to be after 1980...not long after mind you...and this was the bride and grooms wedding song...i'll never forget how they stared into each others eyes while they danced...i have decided that if i EVER get married again, i'd like this song to be MY wedding song...beautiful song...and there is plenty of meaning to it as well...as it brings back some great memories to me.. :)
I remember my grandfather and grandmother dancing to this song at my uncle and aunt's 25th anniversary party... I love this song and I dedicate it to my grandfather and my grandmother (RIP Ony)... When I play this song I think of you and just remember all the great times you both had together!!! I love you!!! :o) <3
For some reason always reminds me of the relationship between Chris and Herbert the old pervert in Family Guy. Did they ever use this song in the show?
in 1980 I was 7 years old and I remember being totally mesmerixzed by her singing this song on TV and I thought she was so pretty. Those memories of being young. Children don't have beautiful things like this today to see. Love you ANNE.
I'd like to say that Anne Murray is one of the first female Canadian singers I can remember listening to. This 1980 gem is among my favorite songs that she did. I also liked the movie Urban Cowboy, of whose soundtrack this song is featured. I sincerely wish Anne was still around so she can show today's female singers, both American and Canadian, how to make a career song out of a love song that asks one simple question, "Could I Have This Dance?"
@joshuabrooks21 she done a Christmas record in 2008 i belive but there hasnt been any new studio recordings relased in a while mabee some in 2011 HOPEFULLY
@joshuabrooks21 she just released her Autobiography last October. So I would imagine she's been busy promoting that. Give her time and I'm sure she'll have another record out soon.
@joshuabrooks21 Anne is still around. In fact, on February 12, 2010, Anne was one of the eight Canadians who carried the Olympic flag during the opening ceremonies of the XXI Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
i dont think we will meet again! but i do pray we do the feeling of her head laying on my chest was the best i will never forget she truly is a very very good person i miss her evert day and it hurts more every day but thankyou! her name is shannon littel /rathbone we was going to get married i dont understand!!!
