It's a simulation. You drop the mag because it is empty. We don't start with a full mag, because we want to practice reload more frequently than every 15 rounds. And you are right, but "tactical reload" is a more advanced class.
This is not Defensive shooting at all. Or she has not been fully trained yet. Just the fact that she is aiming with the sights makes this target shooting.
i think it's funny how a simple video of someone having a little target practice has so much arguing over the fact that 'defensive' is in the title.. :D
This class was in the Israeli West Bank. 2 weeks ago a 13 year old boy was killed and another was maimed by terrorist Arabs with an ax. I don't think this lady would succumb to an ax murderer. THAT is DEFENSIVE shooting!
im talking about that i think there is no defensive way of shooting. there is a way of shooting for defence. dont go on my nervs and grab out a 2 weeks old comment
Fab & Josh, no OFFENSE but you're both mislead. Shooting is always DEFENSIVE unless you're a murderer. Don't get caught up in these psuedo-expert terms. It's just to sell memberships or books etc. The only rules in shooting are safety rules. Everything else is suggestion. As for this video I know 100 people who don't use the "proper" techniques who would have put 2 between her eyes before she had the chance to fire off that first shot. Be smart Be legal Be safe Oh & hopefully fast.
It's a 9mm HS-2000 (marketed in the US as Springfield XD). I think it holds 17rds, but this excersize called for reloading after 6.
As somebody pointed out, she was a fairly novice shooter who attended a "tactical shooting" course to gain familiarity and confidence. The course was excellent in both respects.
cut her some slack... she's obviously a new shooter ... just getting her feet wet.. and doing a great job focusing on target... speed will come later w/practice
she's got a bad case of slow. defensive tactics take practice, but you have to have some stealth moves when it comes to reaching for a firearm under duress.
A sudden firefight will bring your heart rate up to 150 beats p.m.or more. Then such aiming and grouping is physically not possible anymore. lucky if you're able to draw your gun properly with one hand and point in the direction of the opponent.
I'm not saying she did bad but she wasn't that far away from the targets..... so I don't see how those groupings are hard to get.... especially since she has a good grip on the pistol (nice two hand, thumbs forward grip)
She's doing great! Sadly, I know 'tactical' guys in the military and law enforcement that aren't as proficient as her!

Why would you drop a mag with rounds in it during a defensive shooting situation? Need to learn "tactical reload".

do this type defensive shooting in real life and you'll be dead before you hit the ground.

It's a Croatian HS2000. This is the gun that Springfield has licensed and now markets as the Springfield XD.
I am proud to say that my wife spotted it and loved it before they even made it to America.

Nice shooting, but have you ever considered a low recoil caliber like the 7.92x24 mm? Less kick-back and faster accurate shooting.
