Why can't society acknowledge that violent women exist in marriages? I'm a 40 yr old female and I've witnessed it myself! Not all women have halos above their head!
I still can't believe how sexist people are. The female abuser "is being denied treatment?" Well, God forbid she could be inconvenienced in between stabbing her husband and molesting her children. Good Lord...
Contd... Guess what? One day she comes home and tells me that they said that I (the male) was really the abuser, not her. The months that followed were nothing short of a fate worse than death. She would say (as she chased me around the room and threw deadly objects at me), "You are the abuser! Admit it!" Rather than helping her, they acted to enable her violent behavior If somebody sues the Corpus Christi South Texas Women's Shelter. I'd be first in line as a witness to their negligence.
My ex-wife abused me physically, emotionally and economically. She was treated, for her violence, at three seperate hospitals, she was under the care of both psychologists and psychitrists for years to help her with her temper and violence. Then we moved to Corpus Chirsit, Texas and she sought "help" at the South Texas Women's Shelter and attended a program for her violence. Guess what? One day she comes home and tells me that they said that I (the male) was really the abuser, not her. ...
Calif was the first. Went to Appeals court which is a verdict state-wide. WVA verdict, while certainly welcome, was at the trial level which no other court is required to honor. Still, it's good news. To paraphrase what you wrote, we have a long way to go. Exactly.
Asociet, your attitude, shared by men and women, is exactly what we're fighting against. Ever hear the saying "barefoot and pregnat?? How about "A woman's place is in the kitchen?" Here's a new one, "..."mens situations are too marginal to matter." That was uttered by some mind-sucking drone that has no compassion in any bone. Google "wheel of domestic violence". Click on the 1st link from Turning Point Services. That's DV. Ever see a woman do the same things to a man? Yup! Man-bad woman good.

@CanadianPerspective because our society is gynocentric that means, it revolves around womens need and POV.

this is nice to hear.. but still a lot more work a head to happen. Men need to have a better voice and more resources for help.

There's still more work to do, but this is very good.

One more blow against the radical feminist hegemony in the domestic violence establishment. And the coverage in the news is icing on the cake.

too marginal to matter? So the law should only apply to the majority not the minority?

Awesome! We have taken the first step. While there are many steps left to take I am glad to hear that we are finally taking them.
