Wrong. The EX-280 is the name of his ESP Explorer, its a custom type similar to the EX-50/EX-260/EX-400. His Crying Star is his ESP artist Custom, they are two different guitars.

uve obviously never heard broderick play, he can make this guy kneel in mercy. you have to seperate wat one guy does once and then wat he can do over and over again, broderick just continues to amaze with his skill in not only being able to write incredible riffs for metal when he played with nevermore and jag panzer but can also play classical and blues and all. ive yet to see this guy do anything that distinguishes himself from broderick

for people like me (who write music for a career) the reason we chase up things like this instead of ignoring it, is because it feels pretty insulting when some people work hard and come up with complex shit in time signitures like 19/16 and just cause normal people (non musically trained) find it hard to understand, they find it hard to like, so they go about insulting hard work. so people like me just do the same back.

judging by your taste, i think you just havent heard enough of his material. try listening to his solos for last farewell, point of no return, in the cage, awakening, blame yourself, doukoku demo, or animetal solo. also galneryus' last album reincarnation. it has a lot of dream theater influence (more complex). he may not be the most versatile, but he knows the fret board so well that he can truly express himself through the guitar and make it sing.

actually your very wrong. i watched the entire DVD, yes he does have SOME dream theater inspiration, BUT every time he imrovises it USUALLY is in a pentatonic scale. it gets very "samey". imo the drummer is the best thing in the band. i know i seem like i hate syu, but i dont, i guess i just dont think he deserves the credit he gets while the rest of the band live in his shadow. its pretty unfair since their all equally or more skilled

the guitarist getting all the attention is very normal for metal, especially if they're known to have great technical ability. dream theater are a great example, every member is a virtuoso but john petrucci is the famous one. well i respect your opinion on galneryus. but even then i'd still recommend reincarnation, it's an interesting change up and a hell of an improvement from one for all.

no no, mike is also the most recognised, he has the most custom equipment etc. john IS closely following in second though. and in keyboard world obviously jordan is rippin up the tracks. john petrucci usually gets his fame through tone due to his fatal tragedy guitar tone, but mike is the most recognised when it comes to playing. i seen em live twice, and after the show, everyone was mostly there for mike. and yes i have all of their DVDs including recent :D
