Depends upon the study and who ran it. Liberals tend to doctor their studies at most universities, especailly Berkeley and Harvard. So anything coming out of those schools is instantly suspect. Most everyone agrees that we need accessible, affordable, reliable, health care insurance and coverage for all Americans, with provider care for any one else who is in America that doesn't drain the entire system. We all can agree that as it is now the system is broken. Insurance companies are death panels and they already ration care. They deny coverage, delay procedures, and cost a ton. We need reform, but not government control. Gov control would lead to a worsening of the system.

It has no dental, no vision, no catastrophic care, it will ration care, limit access, and raise costs through higher taxes on everything related to health care, income, and health care related. @Kazo, We can all agree that insurance companies are in the suck. I have Kaiser and they ration like mad dogs. It takes me a month or two to get an appointment with my PCP who rushes me in and out like a number. I won't even tell you how long it takes to see a specialist. Real reform would address this and provide access for those who don't have insurance to get it based upon income level. If you are poor, you qualify for free. If you work, and your employer doesn't offer a plan, you qualify.
Looks like my last post wasn't posted. That is innervating. Any ways, the Single Payer System (SPS) should provide basic coverage that people can qualify for. Employers who offer coverage now must continue to offer it. The SPS should only be an option if you are without coverage. Let people buy into private programs in addition to the SPS like Medicare Advantage does That shares the costs and keeps both SP and PI companies happy and gives people more options. And CONGRESS MUST JOIN THE SPS

@ Kazo. What I am reading shows that the bills that are going to be combined call for massive taxes on all thing health care related. These costs will be passed down to you and I. They plan to tax everything via a sales tax like system. You see your doctor, you pay a tax. You get an X-Ray you pay a tax. This worries me. We both know that whatever Congress comes up with won't be free. Its going to cost big time. Kids today don't understand that they are going to be the ones to foot the bill.

I have read that but there are problems with the opt out option. We will know more once the bills are made public if they are made public. If they don't make the bills public then they are cutting their collective electoral throats and Obama's chances for re-election in 2012. Having lived in UK, France, Italy and since 2002 in the US I ws lucky to have experimented the American private health care, the single payer and mixed private+public systems on my own skin. I paid $15 for an operation in Paris, $250/year in college expenses in Italy and I saw my American partner paying NOTHING in Florence in an emergency room including medicines and treatments for 2 weeks and I have NEVER been in line for a doctor (In New York I had to wait 2 weeks for an HMO I cannot choose)

It is AGAINST THE LAW to refuse treatment to those without money or insurance! My father was treated two times in a hospital without money or insurance: the first time for cardio thrombosis and the second time for a massive heart attack. The second time they operated on him without asking any questions.

Kazo, I hope that this isn't a waste of money. I don't want to see another boondoggle program that wastes money, rations care, and puts too much power into the wrong hands. I hope that you can agree with me about these issues. I do want to see real health care reform that provides for gold standard care for all regardless of income level that can pay for itself without bankrupting our economy, raising our taxes overly, and eliminating private insurance companies. I want to see them partnered.

Depends upon the study and who ran it. Liberals tend to doctor their studies at most universities, especailly Berkeley and Harvard. So anything coming out of those schools is instantly suspect. Liberals fear the truth so they tend to make shit up and when they get found out, they double down and really make fools of themselves. When they lie, they really stick to it. When it comes to reality, anything a liberals study has to say is so far from it that it'll never find its way back.

Most everyone agrees that we need accessible, affordable, reliable, health care insurance and coverage for all Americans, with provider care for any one else who is in America that doesn't drain the entire system. We all can agree that as it is now the system is broken. Insurance companies are death panels and they already ration care. They deny coverage, delay procedures, and cost a ton. We need reform, but not government control. Gov control would lead to a worsening of the system.

Kazo, what good are these new health care bills if CONGRESS WON'T USE IT? It has no dental, no vision, no catastrophic care, it will ration care, limit access, and raise costs through higher taxes on everything related to health care, income, and health care related. It is a bad way to do what needs to be done and that is why I and many others are not supporting it. It is a lobbyists wet dream and that in and of itself should be way everyone should say NFW to it. Our leaders are failing us.

@Kazo, We can all agree that insurance companies are in the suck. I have Kaiser and they ration like mad dogs. It takes me a month or two to get an appointment with my PCP who rushes me in and out like a number. I won't even tell you how long it takes to see a specialist. Real reform would address this and provide access for those who don't have insurance to get it based upon income level. If you are poor, you qualify for free. If you work, and your employer doesn't offer a plan, you qualify.

Looks like my last post wasn't posted. That is innervating. Any ways, the Single Payer System (SPS) should provide basic coverage that people can qualify for. Employers who offer coverage now must continue to offer it. The SPS should only be an option if you are without coverage. Let people buy into private programs in addition to the SPS like Medicare Advantage does That shares the costs and keeps both SP and PI companies happy and gives people more options. And CONGRESS MUST JOIN THE SPS

@ Kazo. What I am reading shows that the bills that are going to be combined call for massive taxes on all thing health care related. These costs will be passed down to you and I. They plan to tax everything via a sales tax like system. You see your doctor, you pay a tax. You get an X-Ray you pay a tax. This worries me. We both know that whatever Congress comes up with won't be free. Its going to cost big time. Kids today don't understand that they are going to be the ones to foot the bill.

I have read that but there are problems with the opt out option. We will know more once the bills are made public if they are made public. If they don't make the bills public then they are cutting their collective electoral throats and Obama's chances for re-election in 2012. We both know our politicians are financed by special interests. The insurance companies have paid plenty of money to both parties. I wouldn't mind seeing the screws put to insurance companies - I want health care reform.
But you seem to overlook the fact that the Democrats are owned by the trial lawyers. Therefore, they'll not allow serious tort reform. Insurance is just one component of our costly system. We need to have everything on the table.

Having lived in UK, France, Italy and since 2002 in the US I ws lucky to have experimented the American private health care, the single payer and mixed private+public systems on my own skin. I paid $15 for an operation in Paris, $250/year in college expenses in Italy and I saw my American partner paying NOTHING in Florence in an emergency room including medicines and treatments for 2 weeks and I have NEVER been in line for a doctor (In New York I had to wait 2 weeks for an HMO I cannot choose)

Only 44,000 a year. That's not even counting the people who die because the insurance companies deny coverage. There's got to be another 6K there. So let's just say 50K people dying unnecessarily a year. That's close enough to a holocaust for me. 50K unnecessary deaths is enough for him to slap the crap out of some Republican weasels. He look like the kind of guy who could kick the crap out of half the Republicans at the same time. It was good enough to make them cry like sad lil weasels.

Chris Hodgson. That's my name and I'm dying from cancer of the Parotid. I'm uninsured and uninsurable and rather than make the taxpayers pay for my condition by just going to an emergency room like so many have suggested I took out a 50k loan to try and save my life.

There is no game. As a Jew and descendent of Holocaust survivors I do not take it lightly when someone likens people not getting healthcare to a systemic mass murder of a people.. Perhaps you are too distant or disconnected from the horrors of the holocaust to see why his statement was offensive. This is not about healthcare or his stance - it's about his words. The ends do not justify the means.

I cover a reception desk in a lobby during early a.m. hours until the day staff takes over. Grayson has had lots of airplay on the news.
I can tell you that he draws a lot of comments from the 150-200 who pass through and see him on the TV.
He digusts people. He is reviled. Deservedly so.
It doesn't take any honesty or courage to anonymously defend an obvious outrage.(Especially on YouTube.)

Both times he had at least a week-long stay in the hospital. What you are spreading is pure propaganda! I, myself, have been treated without insurance. I went years without insurance, by choice, and had hospital visits and so forth....no one batted an eye! (BTW, this was across various states and in various cities - this was not one hosptial's exception!) Get your facts straight before you spew such garbage!

To UnspokenRequest: I can give you first hand accounts of people who had NO INSURANCE AND NO MONEY and were still treated by the hospital. It is AGAINST THE LAW to refuse treatment to those without money or insurance! My father was treated two times in a hospital without money or insurance: the first time for cardio thrombosis and the second time for a massive heart attack. The second time they operated on him without asking any questions.

how about we base healthcare on how you vote? you vote republican you can keep your current insurance or opt out. you vote democrat you can sign up with the government and pay a specific healthcare tax unless you're a rich democrat then you can keep your current insurance. or better yet leave it up to the states. if your state doesn't offer it move to a state that does. we should annex cuba. they have free healthcare. all the Dems can move there...then we can nuke it. problem solved!

Diet and exercise are no panacea for getting sick. I know. You can still get sick no matter how healthy you think your lifestyle is. Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, Fibromyalgia, Leukemia, and then what happens if you get injured?

Wasnt it like 20,000 people die from no health insurance a week ago. I'm thinking that these numbers are acceptable truths. Lets have a big number so we can scare the people with it. Next week it will be 100,000 people will die from no insurance next year. However, we need to make healthcare like term life insurance. Health insurance should take care of the severe stuff but things like a flu shot it should not take care of.

Everything you need to know about the cost of healthcare. Lets look at the history of medicare. the goveernment said in that medicare would cost $12 Billion by 1990. The actual cost by 1990? $107 Billion! It is IMPOSSIBLE to have ANY Govt program by on budget OR cost less than the private system. Affordable GOVT run health care is an oxymoron.
