I used digital converter box where I live. Here in Greensboro, NC most of the stations come in very well. But I built my own antenna and most of the transmitters are about 15 mi from my location. Also, the terrain here is rolling hills and not high mountains so reception is usually good anyway. The local NBC station drops out a little now and then. But my antenna is inside and their transmitter is 40 mi away from location. If I put an antenna outside it would not do that.
umm the way I got the HD channel is just by using an old antenna that plugs into the back of the TV. Depending on where you live, your local tv stations may be broadcasting HD signals over the air for free and to catch that signal, just use any antenna or indoor antenna plug it to ur TV, scan and u should get some DTV (Digital tv, HD channels). Hope this helps.

Free digital/HD channels are indeed awesome!
If only I could get digital CTV, FOX and ABC!
I guess I gotta wait August 2011 for digital CTV!
Patience is a virtue!
