Some people wondered if these guys were gay, especially Adrian. IMHO, I think neither of them were. Adrian was simply a weakened momma's boy, while Jack was a hardened heterosexual mercenary, who had to feign homosexuality on occasion in order to reach his goals. Adrian got too clingy as well.

I think he already is. I mean throughout the whole movie he was so obssessed with Jack. When Jack had Adrian kill him,it was like passing down his serial killer identity to him. The ending with Jack's body and all that was like a sign saying Adrian is becoming a senile person.
Jack is/was not a generic "serial killer," he was a right-wing mercenary. There's a big difference. Yes, perhaps he is/was deeply disturbed, but his victims were reputed leftist opponents of the former dictatorship. Don't dilute the movie by turning it into some mere psychological thriller.
