I like how in 0:10 Joker already has his eyes closed ready for the impact when Batman hasn't even touched him.... And it's not a reaction to the light because that would've been instantly after the lights went on not a full second later.

The Joker makes a lot of potentially "gay" comments in the film--and in the comics--and it's intentionally unclear as to whether he's joking or not. There are some theorists who believe there are homoerotic undertones in the Joker's attitude towards Batman, but I think in the context of "The Dark Knight" it was meant more as the Joker's sick joke. Haha.

That's what's compelling about him. He uses half-truths to manipulate people with his charisma. That's how he played practically everyone and nearly destroyed Gotham but he couldn't break Batman, and Batman beat him at his own game.

Batman didn't beat him . He was the only one who didn't let the mind games get to him. Thats it. He still lost. The Joker got Harvey Dent messed up so he won.

The Joker can't lose, even if killed.

But that's the point: the Joker is out to prove everyday that people can sink to his level, given the right conditions. Harvey did, but Batman didn't, because he chose not to. In doing so, he defeated Joker. The Joker is the ultimate loser, because ultimately, he chooses to be the filth he is, despite what he says about human nature.
