Nothing is safe from a panic screen, though Windows is notorious for getting them. Linux and Mac get them, but less often.

By the way, this could be from Windows XP, but this specific BSOD is from the NT Kernel, unlike the more commonly seen one from the 9x and ME kernels (What ever the kernel is called for those versions). So this could be from Windows 200, Vista, or the earlier "Windows NT" OS's.
