  • all house cats come from African wild cats- not just the Egyptian Mau

  • How does it manage to evade lions, leopards, hyenas, and the African wild dog?

  • They're so lithe and graceful- good choice of music, too.

  • wow my kitten looks EXACTLY like this one. Exactly! Smaller of course but all the lines, face shape, ears color. Everything else looks just like my kitten.

  • He's cute! He didn't seem to mind you taking a video of him. :)

  • I saw some of these critters at the "Living Desert" zoo near Palm Springs. They were very loud and made strange noises (similar to house cats, but not exactly) There was a sign on the enclosure that warned you not to get too close; that even though they may look like your cute house cat, they bite!

  • the cameraman spoiled his dinner hunt...

  • @diskoid No, he was a bad hunter at that moment.

  • House cats evolved from them.

  • i have a pet african wild cat and the egyptian mau is a african wild cat

  • @DeadSkulls15 Didn't know anyone was allowed to have Wildcats domesticated as pets. Guess you can! Learn something new everyday! :)

  • i have a pet african wild cat

  • 4:04 mark

  • These cats are the ancestors of the Tabby cat. I feed a very large female Tabby. She is friendly to people she knows but always acts paranoid. She sleeps in a bush and wont come inside our home. She hunts and kills birds and mice and leaves the dead bodies on our front porch.

  • wow thats the longest and most slimed-out cat i've ever seen

  • Cats look at you in such strange ways... Their faces kind of look like humans

  • @eatcarpet @eatcarpet I know, because we talk to the animals with a friendly voice and the become very friendly and often they stay with us, even Lions and Caracal.

  • What are you serious. Maybe I should starting talking to animals in a nicer voice 'cause they never seem to like me.

  • @eatcarpet Go for it!!!

  • @eatcarpet Humans look at us in such strange ways. They are the most mysterious creatures. Sometimes you don't know what they are up to, but some are nice and give food. We have to stay alert though because they are big and clumsy.

  • @eatcarpet Could explain why humans respond to them so much.

  • The fastest domesticated cat, the Egyptian Mau, is said to be related to the African Wild Cat.

  • @emilyvvylime I agree. I have one :P

  • @emilyvvylime The ancestor of all domestic cats is the African Wild Cat which still exists today

  • do these make good pets

  • @52flipflop Maybe but these cats are wild and they belong into nature.

  • no, not at all, they are just as wild as the big cats

  • how can something that small survive amomgst all the other much larger predators!!

  • @52flipflop Because they are very clever.

  • @52flipflop Niche! Different prey for different predators. Often in difficult situations the smaller hunters can survive longer than the big ones because they need less.

  • It's unfortunate how all the attention goes to the larger cats, these are wonderful animals.

  • beautiful cat! I like all the cats...big and small : )

  • Beautiful video of the Wildcat. Great ...

  • Wonderful video :)

  • They look so much like Jungle Cats (Felis Chaus) - they're easy to confuse.

  • In our European (for me - Latvian) woods lives similar wild cane cat. More largly and wilder.

But South African wild cat most similar! (as hous cat)

  • It seems, that cat looks as our oun cats! We know, that genealogy of our cats is from Egipt, but in the wild nature of South Africa it keeps better!

    It winks: thats right!

Совсем как домашняя Мурка, ещё и подмигивает!
