I don't mean to be a bad guy or rude, but the patterns you played are more useful to the Hard Bop style of Jazz rather than Bebop. You might have just got the names wrong. Bebop is all about speed and virtuosity in the members of the band. I have heard slower bebops tunes, but none as slow as your groove. Just one more thing, because of the speeds that Bebop can reach it will be more useful to play straight sixteenths or eights depending on your speed.
@JazzieIQ No, actually you have it wrong. Bebop does NOT mean just fast, virtuosic playing. That's ridiculous. So every tune that Roach, Clarke, Parker, Davis etc etc etc, ever played during the Bebop heyday that was a medium tempo, or even slower (gasp) was not Bebop? I don't think so. It's about the context of the overall piece and music. There were hard bop tunes that were done at 300bpm and bebop tunes done at 180bpm. It's all dependent on the context.
Assuming that you would play this behind a group, i would say that your snarework is a bit busy and monotone, if ya get me'? i'm a guitarist so don't kill me... Otherwise great playing
adds a little color to the conversation, dont cha think? ehe! oh, i was a horrible bebop player back then and a young over zealous drummer so i didn't know what i was talking about. nice skills MRmaikelnait. i could definitely learn a few things here :)
Looking good man. It makes me smile to know that plenty of people are still taking the time to pursue this.
