What you don't know behind this story is that this kid was getting strangulated in his backpack, that he couldn't slip through because of his helmet, in that last seconds before complete suffocation he managed to pop off his helmet and slip through the backpack strap, he was unconscious in the air.. I seen this on a show before. It happened in Park City, Utah. The kid had a loose back pack that was chocking him to death then he fail and he didn't break anything.

Thats what you get for leaving shit loose, make sure your back pack is always strapped in all positions and your lift pass is either around your neck or in a zipped pocket, if nothing can get caught, neither can you, unless you forget to stand up, which is kind of impossible, if you are on ski's and stand up, you will just get pushed away!

If you land bad on a jump your skis are SUPPOSED to come off, so you dont tear your ACL and fuck yourself up even more. This guy looks like hes landing on a ledge on the trail, which is why he doesn't roll down the slope. Nothing can save you from 50 ft to flat, which is why jumps boost to steep landings, not fucking flat.

Either way, he didn't continue to travel downhill, and there for all of the energy of his fall went straight into the compression of his body on impact. None of it went into forward momentum. What allows skiers to jump high or Huck huge cliffs is a steep landing. Steep landings allow for the transfer of downward momentum into gradual forward momentum. AKA it makes it so they don't die.

Some of you people are soo stupid. You CAN'T reverse chair lifts. Safety systems are in place so they don't reverse. Obviously the lifties were late in stopping the lift and he bull-wheeled. Where they stopped it though was in the right place, right next to the tower, so if needed someone could climb up an get the kid down.
