  • RIP Mick Karn, talent like yours only comes around once in a blue moon.

  • RIP Mick... You will be missed

  • Just bought my second copy of this from eMusic about a month ago because I Iost my original CD version. Also bought Murphy's Dusk which is pretty good too.

  • Mick is just one of the most original bass voices of the 20th century. I think this was about the peak of his originality. His new material is inventive, but these bass lines on this album are simply unparalleled. NO ONE ever plays like Karn.

  • Mick is seriously ill, please donate to his appeal here:

    mickkarn.net

  • fretless bass is straight pimpin

  • Thank you for sending us this gift!!!!!!!!!!!

It is total new for me to Know of this Karnproject. The voice total differs to Karns own voice I do not like at all.A deathline concerning the bassdifficulty.ahhh..Great!

    Thanks!

  • Oh, tnq so much for reminding me, I've almost forgotten how brilliant they were :D

  • amazing album. i love the drum patterns too, a guy called Paul Vincent Lawford I think, it's all programmed I think or is their live drums on some tracks? sleeve says "rhythms constructed by paul vincent lawford". excellent work. the drum pattern on this one drives me wild!!

  • In an avenue quiet and tall

  • This piece of music is brilliant. The level of creativity and originality P&M achieved is phenomenal. Wouldn't a 2nd album/new Dali project be blimmin' awesome after all this time?!

  • Its still sad to me that they never went that far into making a second album! :(

  • @PurpleBlueHaze They will!

  • @PurpleBlueHaze They were in the middle of recording a second Dali's Car album last fall, but only finished 4 tracks before Mick died. It's supposed to be released as an ep soon.

  • Amazing- I forgot about this. I owned the album.

    I miss vinyl...

  • I was a fan of both bauhaus and Japan, so naturally when this came out I peed a little :D

  • Oh yes! Japan and Bauhaus are amazing bands! I can nver blame you for peeing about it! I never even hear of Japan till I looked this up and hear there music and was like "wow!" How the hell can this band not be big?" :(

  • This recording made such a change in my life... Never, ever forget it.

  • I love this album so much too, one of my faves of all time. But have you heard the track Dali's car fro Trout Mask replica by Beefheart? Astonishing beautiful filth....

  • Great album, I agree wish they would of done more!

  • who plays fretless? jesus christ?

  • Glasses- I was wondering the same thing!

lots of Percy Jones in the playing, but too funky & sensible and not showy enuff to be Percy

  • Love it -arrr! Bass clarinet? Fretless wonderfulness, I wonder if that's a Linn drum -actually it's probably a Fairylight cmi, ah fuggit, who cares, got the album, love it. Mick you eyebrowless wizard...Mwwah!

  • I havent ignored this album... I must own 5-6 copys of it. 3-4 CD's and at least 3 LP's

  • Fucking awesome, one of the most ignored albums ever! Karn is delicious :-)

  • Pretentious moi?

  • No! Simply brilliant! Learn it and then slag it off. The bass line is awesome and the rhythmic patterns very challenging. If you don't get it then suck your own dick, that would be homo pretentious. Don't slag off music unless you can play it and fully understand it and its place in the canon.

  • Pseudo-musician psychobabble?

  • LOL...:-)

  • This tune introduced me, a few months ago, to this amazing bass player called Mick Karn... my GOD, what a bassline!

  • Greatest collaboration of all time? Quite possibly. Two of the most talented and gorgeous men in music, at least :]

  • Thankss for this brilliant tune and xtreme bass:-)

  • The first time I went in Paris, in 1987, I bought this album in cassette at Virgin Megastore... Amazing sounds and a beautyfull picture in the border of reality...

  • Brilliant! I love this vid!

  • Thanks! Happy to hear you love it!

  • great video

  • Thanks!! *_*

  • thanks you warm up a busy day i went to see the sculptures in about 1981. in fact it all started there for me in hamltons galery.i liked the reply you made to me a few weeks ago

  • Another classic from Heidi !!

  • Oh thanks Roddy!

  • Well, all your videos are slideshows. I was just wondering if you knew how to have video clips in it. Not that slideshows are bad; I like this.

  • Oh that! Umm..I dont know how! I just learned how to make slide shows less then a week ago I think!

  • I like the beat to this. Do you know how to actually use clips?

  • what do you mean??
