  • Where can I find this mission?

  • @GrochGaming

Read the first sentence of the description above.

  • Why is Shepard an emo?

  • The collecters were prothean, just not how you think, the tentacle guys were a lower species used by the protheans to hide themselves on illos because the reapers thought they had already killed off that species, the real protheans look exactly like the collecters, except with a mouth

  • @l17grim How do you know this

  • @gamemaker1234 the leaked script :P

  • The collector didn't apeared in ME...

guess the vision wasn't complete, just like this one..

  • So the whole vision was them mutating, but what were the electronic parts? Infusions to cause the mutations?

  • Whatever is the meaning, that im sure it is the collector horrific mutation, this visions is always damn scary. Specially with the dark star on the other vision.

  • I bet there will be the complete one in ME3

  • Where do you find this? I don't remember this in my first playthrough of ME2.

  • @BlackhoundOne on some uncharted world

  • @PHresh94X

are you sure? At 0:18 it looks more like an alien giving head.

  • You know, I've never played a femshep character before--but after hearing Ms. Hale's performance yesterday, I can't imagine renegade!Shepard as anything else. I think I might just make one.

  • They cut the survivors open, tore their genetic code apart and spliced bits back together inside out, all the while fusing the flesh to silicon nervous systems. And by their definition, this somehow ELEVATED their victims' existence.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ortriaphin At this point, only a fool would accept the idea of the Reapers' word for word. It sounds like they actually BELIEVE what they are doing is somehow elevating their victims' existence, so it may be they're also slaves. Reprogrammed/repurposed, perhaps, by a more insidious entity? ME4? Dun Dun Duuuunnnnnnnnnn.

  • not that this is a prob or anything but y everybody have femshep characters? im not trolling just wondering

  • @randomman412 I'm wondering the same thing. According to the story I personally think the male Shepard is better suited to take the role. And the original Shepard too. Not some ugly make up. But look at it this. Some fat, hairy freaks are usually hot elf babes on MMO's. It's a creepy fetish thing, cuz' if you think it's chicks uploading most of these vids, YOU'RE WRONG!

  • @xcalic3600 agreed shepard has to be default male for best suited role otherwise its kinda weird :)

  • Shepard starts typing on the extranet hits x button on ad and this shows up every time

  • I think Shepard has been making out with Thane...

  • I like how the collectors were dying this time. Shepard doesnt fuck around.

  • @themanclaw2 I hope you realize that they weren't dying, the vision show here was the same vision you see in the first game just in more depth, the vision wasn't the destruction of the Protheans , it was of the Reapers changing the Prothean's genetic code and in doing so turning them into Collectors.

  • can just imagine shepard stumbling onto prothean porn

  • When i 1st saw this is was like,"OMG, dis explainz everything! Protheans taught the Egyptians how to build pyramids!". :P Mass Effect fans a huge Pyramid was in the 1st game...

  • Did this scare the crap out of anyone else when they first found it or just me?

  • @alexandercns If you're referring to seeing the vision for the first time, yes it did scare the living hell out of me. But when I found this particular console shown in this vid, not so much, not anymore as I had seen the vision so many times already.

  • @TheTwilightUnicorn See, I had played Mass Effect 2 before I had the first one (and you will never understand how confused I was going throughout the game when people were talking about stuff like I should know what they were referring to), so this was my first console and it creeped me out. The ones in ME1, when I finally played it, didn't though.

  • @alexandercns Of course, I understand.

  • WHERE IS THIS MISSION?!?

  • @HyperKnuckles888 Scan the planets.

  • people just dont understand

this vision, is of the reapers turning the protheans into teh collectors

thats why at :21 the collector has a lower body of a prothean.

  • @PHresh94X That's part of it, but it's also indicative of how their race was all but destroyed. The protheans were already a dead species when the few that were left were mutilated and transformed by harbinger.

  • @PHresh94X In fact, it is shown and explained that Protheans are turned into Collectors from the Reapers, in Mass Effect 2, precisely in a Collector Ship.

  • @cavrianer Wait, the collector ship is actualy made out of dead protheans? O.o

  • @donda2111 Silly, not the ship, the Collectors himself are Genetically Modified Protheans.

  • @cavrianer I know that its just that your comment made it look you said the ship was made out of protheans.Guess i misunderstood lol. :P

  • @donda2111 I don't even remember my comment. Oh well.

  • @PHresh94X 8 MONTH OLD RESPONSE WOO! You don't know what protheans look like, no one does.

  • @klaridon Actually, now we do.

  • @elwintherogue Yes since mass effect 3's demo leak we do, but if you payed attention to what the guy I was replying to said, you'd understand.

  • weren't the pyramid and orb in ME1?

  • @bloodydeath808

    Yes, that's a different set.

  • my headhas been srambled like an egg how do you think i feel!

  • the ironic thing was I did this mission right before I went on the collecter ship during my first play through

  • what does it mean

  • @jmon60 Just a little teaser of what you learn on the Collector Ship, that the Collectors are Protheans who were genetically altered and equipped with cybernetic implants by the Reapers. Someone on a different video theorized that the images in the original warning message was actually depictions of the Protheans being turned into the Collectors.

  • The transformation from Prothean to collector has to be the most painful, the most horrendous pain ever.

  • @shawn30able well considering they were already mindless zombie clones by then I wouldn't say so =/

  • @CaptainApop Yeah, thats true. Can't wait to end the Reapers once and for all.

  • why in the fuck is this an anomaly side mission that you must discover on your own and not part of the main story?

  • @joeratti because it's not necessary to understand the story.. just like the story with the caveman in ME1

  • @Bjarkson neither are any of the loyalty missions. actually there are maybe 4 or 5 mission in the entire game that are related to understanding the story.

  • @joeratti they aren't part of the main story line (depending on how you define main story line).. you can choose whether you would like to make them loyal or even recruit them (most of them).. but even if they were part of some mandatory story line, they still add some valuable story to the shepard-story..

  • 1 dislike... A COLLECTOR WAS HERE!

  • @SternMann93 lol True

  • No the protheans were turned into the collectors thanks to the reapers. But that was already given as a fact on that mission with the collector ambush.

  • What did I miss? O.o??

  • @RosetteandChrono This is a part of a side mission found on planet Joab

  • If you notice at 0:21 it appears that the collector is being dropped off of something, WTF!

  • more likely this is "Rick-ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL-Roll"

  • If havent seen what the protheams look like just replay kasumi's loyalty mission because ive notice in hock's vault with all the statues he has one that kasumi calls creepy that's a statue of a prothean before they become collectors i didnt notice it until i saw it and then looked in the codex about the prothean and the pictures looks exactly the same as the statue.....that mindfucked the shit out of me lol

  • @TheWerehound13 i dont think its a prothean, it looks very alien, and its prothean art, but i DONT think it is what an actual prothean look like.... hope i'll find out in ME 3

  • @TheWerehound13 i dont think its a prothean, it looks very alien, and its prothean art, but i DONT think it is what an actual prothean look like.... hope i'll find out in ME 3

  • @TheWerehound13 ...Or you could look at the hundreds of prothean statues on Ilos in ME1 ;)

  • Millions of years from now, a future alien race will study us and use "beacons" [called pc's in our age] to see what we were like.

They will run into "visions" of rickrolling.

  • @tenjenk and how we watched por... i mean recordings how we reproduce.

  • @123veso and how we had to protect our offspring from a 2 dimensional bear

  • @tenjenk Or porn. EIther one of those.

  • @Meehuuu or rednecks getting hurt

    the alien race go WTF?

unlrss we can ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL of deep space travel

  • @tenjenk your potential situation has epic proportions of comedic value.

  • IF I GET MINDFUCKED ONE MORE TIME...!

  • All while Shepard is thinking "WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME!!!"

  • anyone notice the similarity to the Pyramid on Tuntau

  • Whenever I see this, I say "Now it's time for some freaky shit videos

  • Can anyone say "The Matrix"?

  • thats a predator :O

  • "Damn, not again!"

  • Once Shepard exits out of it, there kinda sounds like a 3 second clip of the Guitar from ME1's credit song. Anybody else notice that?

  • I'm so glad i did this side mission!

  • @Qwepir

If you would've listened to the story at all about the collectors - they are modified protheans. They replaced their entire body with technology so that the Reapers could use them as slaves.

On a side note the vision has me thinking that T.I.M is a reaper. look carefully at Saren from ME1, the giant reaper from ME2 and the way he acts when you destroy the collector base (if you choose to destroy it anyways).

  • @vaane19993 well T I M wanted the base alive for Human domination over the world he was a BIg racist all he cared for was humans a reaper? i do not think that he is just a big ASS HOLE

  • If you stop at 0:21 you can see that the collector got the same lower body part that the Protheans have !!

  • @marco1991pl What do u mean? the collectors ARE the protheans...

  • @razzp25 I'd say but it would be a spoiler, lol

  • @razzp25 They where....

  • i found that place by accident once, lol

  • Funny thing is the Protheans were supposed to look like of like Illithids with tentacle "beards".

  • @Andreus Chtulhu!

  • I see dead Protheans.

  • @vycka1234

    Sixth Sense ref, right?

  • @chargerfighter1 Yes, it is.

  • @vycka1234

Yay. I've never even seen it, I just heard the line somewhere.

  • @chargerfighter1 It's a popular meme.

  • @vycka1234

    Figures.

  • Well i think it's obvious that the vision in ME1 is the protheans being turned into collectors but i think they (Protheans) put the beacons down to warn people what could happen if the reapers return.

  • When I saw this in-game at first I thought "not again..." then I saw the Collecter.

  • that weird mouth thing opening, i think that was meant to be a prothean being mutated into a collector

  • How could the surviving 12 protheans know about that? AAARGH! So frustrating!

  • Agh protheans are scary D:

  • I love your Commander Shepard, she's so cute :3

  • For a race that left remarkably little behind the Protheans left a lot of stuff lying around, damm litterbugs.

  • ...That's a really nice look Shepard. You have the bars for that?

  • I CANT ESCAPE THE 5 HOUR VISIONS!

  • Creepy, this femshep looks EXACTLY like mine, with the exception of mine being paragon. ._.

  • Mass Effects version of the Rick-Roll.

  • @coldshoulder14

So THAT'S why they left so many beacons just lying around. The Protheans are the galaxy's greatest trolls.

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey I always knew it. I mean the blasting noise... creepy sounds... it's like horror trolling.

  • @coldshoulder14

Does that make the Reapers Anons?

  • @HypaSonicDeathMonkey probably.

    or Scinons. lol

  • Shepard just got prothean-rolled.

  • @coldshoulder14 So, I guess Shepard's never gonna give these Prothean visions up.

  • @SeraphimSwordmaster and Shepard will never let them down.

  • @coldshoulder14 Reaper Roll'd.

  • hmmm another protean alert

  • I actually found this BEFORE the collector ship mission, and I pieced it together. It wasn't as much of a surprise when it was confirmed on the collector ship mission, but I think it made a bigger impact figuring it out for myself rather than having the plot twist handed to me.

  • Where exactly do you find this side mission?

  • @FlashJordan94 Planet Joab, in the Rose Nebula. Same cluster where you find Jacob's loyalty mission, in the same system as the Mass Relay.

  • wow, your shepard looks great!!

  • WAHT A TWEEST.

  • This was my first side quest i done and it completely spoiled a big part :(

  • It took a long damned time for the plot to start getting interesting in ME2.

  • @MysteryChocolate You didn't find being ressurected by Cerberus, who you systematically destroyed everwhere you found them in the first game to be interesting?

  • @audallas841 I thought the beginning was intriguing...but then it just got boring in the middle. I didn't like how the bulk of the story was about solving people's daddy issues so you could go on a suicide mission with a lack of real planning. It just felt like it could've been more.

  • @MysteryChocolate I do agree with you there.

  • @MysteryChocolate Actually, no one ever said you had to do the loyalty missions. You don't have to do them at all. You won't live if you don't, but no one ever said you HAD to do them. You always have a choice. Of course, if you want a relationship of some sort, you must also perform a loyalty mission for that. And I think the loyalty missions add a little something to the characters...except Jacob. He's about as 3 dimension as a sheet of paper.

  • @audallas841 Unless you did those side missions, one would have no idea what Cerberus was prior to ME2

  • @Qwepir I think your right, i thought the exact same thing when I was the both the eden prime vision and this vision, why didn't Vigil tell us this. now im going to turn his virtual ass into actual dust.

  • @RoboticTable

"Now im going to turn his virtual ass into actual dust."

i love that thing but i cant remember where I heard it.

  • @berserkelm Krogan on Feros

  • @Qwepir

The didn't receive any implants, the DNA of the Prothean slaves was modified and the rest of the Protheans were destroyed.

  • WTF where do you found this?? I want that too :D

  • The Reapers decided to make the Protheans collectors after their failed attempt at making another Reaper in the image of the Protheans.

  • It must have to do with the Protheans trying to gain there "Humanity" back from the reapers changing them, according to the sounds and the faces on the collectors it looks painful...

  • DAMN VISION IS EVERY I GO!

  • I would imagine that the next vision is prothean porn

  • @MegaBLARP the question is... if the protheans looks like the collectors or do they look like they really do?!

  • @coldshoulder14 it think they were collectors, but some of them got enslaved or something

  • yeah there is a collector at the end of the vision

  • I've scanned 100% of the galaxy, completed the game 100% except for surveying minerals. This was a scary side-missions, with swarms of husks coming at you :O

  • The first time I saw this, I was actually thinking this: "Whoa. Didn't see that coming."

  • When this happened I was like.. THE FUCK?!

  • I wish there were more moments like this in ME2 .....

  • Is this a downloadable mission. Cause I scanned every default planet in the game and never found that.

  • @MichaelKlump You should find it in the Rosetta Nebula. I forgot which planet it was.

  • SPOILER ALERT!!!

the process is mentiond on the collector ship when EDI scans a data terminal that you recover whilst on the collector ship. she determins that the genetic structure of the collectors resemble large similarities to (supposed Collected DNA of the Protheans). the vision that shepard encounterd was the due process of the collectors transformation into the now known collectors. the scans revealed later on in the story confirms the truth about the collectors on the suicide mission.

  • So wait.... The beacon was explaining what the Reapers DID to the Prothians!?!?!?

I thought it was just a warning.

  • Cerberus was less focused on what happened to the Protheans and more focussed on just stopping the present Collector threat. In ME3, the Alliance might have a few prothean artifacts found by the time you get back with them.

  • at :22 when I saw this in my first play through I was like SON OF A BITCH!!! and all the pieces fit together about what happened to the rest of the Protheans and who the Collectors worked for. Mind you I hadn't gone aboard the derelict Collector ship yet so this was a shocker. It also freaked me out because these where the same subliminal images the Conduit was trying to relay to us in ME1 and just how important those images where.

  • is that a prothean at 0:22?

  • Kind of, it's what the protheans are now.

  • @TheBlessedOne29 Looks more like a Collector to me.

  • @DarkX289 i just found out that the collectors were actually protheans who had their DNAs repurposed to serve the reapers

  • you can tell me3 will involve dark energy, seeing how its effecting haelstrom sun and the cop from noveria mentions dark energy

  • @kingsage18 Veetor also mentions getting dark energy readings from the collectors on freedoms progress. Definitely going to have some effect in ME3

  • @Okay98

Leads me to believe that we'll be going back to Haestrom in ME 3. Haestrom's sun Dholen is rapidly destabilising as a result of dark energy, this is probably the Reapers trying to create a new Mass Relay to link to Dark Space so they can escape - as Dholen erupts prematurely into a Red Giant it will expel masses of Elelment Zero - EZ is what makes Relay FTL travel possible.

  • @ajw34307 Well, they would still require a labour force to construct the relay and the extinction of the Collectors doesn't exactly help.

  • @moonblaster91

Very true, but the Collectors seldom went beyond the Omega 4 Relay into galactic society - the Reapers will have other agents.

  • they were definitley getting at something with the whole dark energy thing it seemed to me they were just developing a way to destroy earth and other planets suns to kill everyone easier but i like your idea better

  • All the images seem to point to the Prothean demise and change to Collectors. Maybe ME3 will finally give us the whole story or what remains in hopes to try and pieces together a proper idea :)

  • It's explained in ME2. go back and pay more attention to the game and it will answer some of your questions.

  • lol...right.

  • actually ME1 and ME2 everything is told, Vigil explains everything how the Protheans were pwnt.

    foreshadowing FTW!

  • Foreshadowing INDEED :)

  • @TankGun90

I believe one thing we'll learn the conclusion to is the Prothean scientists that survived the Cycle and infiltrated the Citadel, there's a lot of story space there.

  • i remember vigil saying in me1 that it was very unlikely the protheans that escaped to the citadel survived because their was no food or resources for them to live off of. But then again if the keepers are created somewhere in the core of the citadel i guess its possible for a prothean to be hiding in there somewhere also lol

  • Cool i got that too, the twist made me wannna discover more.

  • So wait- could the parts of the visions in ME1 with the cybernetic parts grafted onto organic flesh (like what keeps flashing by really quickly) have been the protheans undergoing cybernetic implants to turn them into collectors?

  • @Qwepir yes pretty much. And it's creepy.

  • That's very...very unsettling.

  • great observation
